Gnanambiga! A name that is very popular in wedding catering circles in Chennai, and I’ve been a big fan of their pop-up outlet during the December Music season, at Vani Mahal! I’m one of those people who have experienced both – They were the caterers for my wedding, and I have made umpteen visits to their outlet at Vani Mahal, as Hexaware was located in the adjoining compound, where Pothys stands today!

Executive special veg meals. 260 INR. At least 20 items served with ice cream. For heavy eaters only. Reception and ambience are ok. Too much noise level. Not suitable for leisurely dining.

They’ll have plenty of items under breakfast. But will say they’re available only in the evening when you order. Never seen a big establishment which says “I don’t have podi for podi dosa. Only plain dosa available“ . Pathetic attitude from the staff as well

Went yesterday with the family. From the outside this looked promising and fancy but it was a different story on getting the food. The Pav Bhaji and the Papdi Chaat were the only items that were decent. Not bad but nothing to write home about either. Whereas the Bhelpuri was absolutely horrid. It felt stale partly and tasteless for the other part. As for South Indian items we ordered the Sambar Vada where the sambar was too bland. The Masala dosa and the Podi dosa were extremely disappointing. The Podi dosa was just caked with extremely bland podi which kept spilling onto the plate. The accompanying chutneys were average and bland sambar didn't help either. On returning my family members felt a little uneasy after the food. This was a let down and I won't recommend this place to anyone.

We came to the restaurant for dinner last month and after waiting for 30 mins we got a table where nothing we asked was available at 845pm. Add to that all diners had a full blown stomach issue which lasted for the next 3 days. Bad!

They didn't take order even after half an hour and their attitude towards customer is unbearable. Pathetic service, arrogant behaviour and expensive tasteless food..
