Great restaurant in an iconic hotel of Chennai The thali was delicious, portions generous and served by a solicitous waiter who kept asking for second and third helpings. The daal, koottu, sambar and more kuzhambu stood out for me. An empty restaurant when we walked in was more than 75% full by the team the meal ended evidencing its popularity. The tables are wide apart allowing social distancing. The restaurant was very clean and billing was super quick. There is lots of parking.

We had a fantastic breakfast experience here. The food was amazing. Loved the Cheese Masala Dosai and Vadai. They do have buffet breakfast as well. Service was very good. Price was slightly on the higher side There is plenty of parking space.

It's one of the oldest restaurant in town. Located in the heart of the city. Well known for its South Indian food. South Indian meals provides great quantity and wide variety of food items. I love their hot Idlies served with ghee, It's just amazing. One of those restaurants where you could select a small or large portion for soups and raitas. Of course they do offer good choice of North Indian dishes. But certainly recommend for South Indian Meals at this restaurant. Taste - 4.5/5 Ambience - 3/5 Value for money - 5/5 Staff and Service - 4/5 Quantity - 5/5

Breakfast is really awesome here and must try. On a Sunday, there was constant customer flow and still they managed to serve on time. We had idly, ghee roast dosa, vada. Rosemilk is good too. Coffee wasn't great. Vada and sambar are simply superb. Crispy vada and sambar so subtle and tasty.

We were in nearby place decided to have buffet breakfast over here. This place is easy to locate. Landmark by itself. Have ample space for parking 🅿️. Not crowded during our visit. Buffet Breakfast Menu: Welcome Juice Sweet Idly Mini Dosai (Plain and Masala) Poori (with potato 🥔 masala) Rava Upma Pongal Vadai Bread 🍞 with butter and jam Corn flakes with Milk Cut fruits (grapes 🍇 and papaya) Hot Tea and Coffee ☕ Sambar and 2 chutneys Taste wise everything is decent. Poori can be even more softer. Salt level require fine tuning in few items. Chutney and masala are excellent in taste. Typical age old restaurant taste. Cost Rs.273/- including GST is reasonable considering the quantity and place. Value for money 💰 Overall Satisfying experience. Would rate 3.5 out of 5. Having satisfying experience decided to try lunch over here which was blunder mistake. Ordered Madras and Andhra meals along with Crispy corn 🌽 starter. Items came in reasonable time. Crispy corn 🌽 starter is decent with South Indian touch. Too much lemon 🍋 topping spoiled the taste to some extent. Bit spicy 🔥 too. Madras Meals consist of Poori (2 nos.), Rice 🍚, Poriyal, kootu, aviyal, sambar, karakolambu, rasam, variety rice (Puli saadam), curd, daal, appalam and ice cream 🍨. In Andhra meals apart from what mentioned above we get paruppu Podi, gongura and avakai pickle. Taste wise Podi is good while sambar and ice cream are decent. Rest of the items are all below average. Not worth at all. Salt levels are poor. None of us among 4 liked the meals that much. Would rate 2.25 out of 5 for our lunch experience. Conclusion from my end - Can give a try for Buffet Breakfast but stay away from meals.

I had been there for a breakfast with my family. The restaurant was spacious and you will the find the chairs and tables of older generation. The staff were courteous and very attentive. I ordered Dosa, Medhu vada and their signature fresh juice which is called Ashoka special grape juice. The taste of dosa was crunchy and loved it whereas in medhu Veda it was not crunchy and a lot of green chilies were present. The grape juice was good. Overall , I enjoyed their food

We had lunch (meals) at this place. Ambience was excellent. It was like going back in time, old madras, the architecture, the spacious parking, spacious seating inside and the way the staff were dressed. The hygiene was questionable. The waiter who served our meals was an old complacent man who was messy, and dripped ghee all over our table. It was a total put-off. The food tasted had no taste or aroma at all. Over all a poor experience. Would not visit this place again.
