Being nearby, I often get breakfast from this place, usually enjoy the vadais. Their keerai vadai is a bit oily, and the medhu vadai is a bit too bulky and has too many onions for my taste. Would give those a 3.5-4/5. Their bondas are delicious though, a definite 5. Perfect size, great taste. The reason I rate Chaitra 5 stars, however, is because I order fried rice from here on the regular and it's always on point. The veg noodles are absolutely great too. Consistently delicious.

Tasty and Affordable South Indian Food Being a stone's throw from my home, I have been a regular at Chaitra with Fond Memories of their Pongal and Masala Dosa which were my go-to items whenever I felt hungry during my college days (which was quite often).  The place has 2 wheeler parking, 4 wheelers may have to be parked in adjacent streets. Ambiance and Service: 3.5/5  Its a simple, Self-Service type joint with minimal fuss, you pay up front for what you eat. The staff are quite friendly, your refills for sambar and chutney will be done on demand without any hesitation Food: 4/5 Simple but tasty, south Indian dishes such as dosa, idly, poori, pongal are all quite good, the Coconut Chutney is really delicious while the Sambar is just about fine. Have also tried their rice options for lunch and they are all satisfactory. They also have a fast-food counter from which I have only tried the Paneer Manchurian, which was quite Decent. My strong favorites will always be Dosa, Pongal and Poori Value for Money: 4/5 The prices are reasonable, quite light on the wallet and the food is worth every rupee paid. The only odd thing I find is that the price of their Medhu Vada is quite High compared to the other items! Must be a story there.. Verdict: Strongly Recommended

On last Saturday morning at 9 am in the morning was searching for an old hotel near Mylapore and thought of this hotel. Has ample space for bike parking, went inside ordered a Masala Dosai and a Filter Coffee which costs Rs.65/-Nett.  It took 25+ years to dine in this hotel as, I have been seeing this hotel from my college days (ie) from 1989, never had the chance of visiting at last visited last Saturday. The Dosai was a little bit small in size, the taste was good, overall a great value for money. Location - 3.5/5.0; Ambience - 3.0/5.0; Food - 3.5/5.0; Service – 0.0/5.0; VFM - 4.0/5.0
