We had this as last resort after exhausting a couple of options, where one was crowded and the other was so low on menu. But the last resort turned out to be the best option. We immediately liked the feel of it thanks to the way the restaurant was true to the name ‘Hotel Grand Karaikudi’. Maybe it’s an old house converted to a restaurant. First of all, there was ample car parking and we got seats immediately. Service was really good too. Only minus point was the smoke inside. They definitely have to work on the ventilation. We ordered one Mutton Meals, Chicken Meals and Fish Meals. For around Rs. 350 it was a steal because it came with three side dishes each. Best of the lot was Mutton Meals. In addition to it we ordered Prawn Biryani, which was great too. As for the sides, Calamari 65 and Barbeque Fish were amazing. I have absolutely no complaints. It was a treat well deserved.

Chettiar veettu Mutton kozambu tastes very good but the Mutton pieces in it are not edible. The meat is hard and no flesh, only cartilage and unedible tissue. Can you provide well cooked softer Mutton. Looks like the meat used is very hard, bony and lot of cartilage in meat

Unpleasurable experience. Too money minded. The have one price in the menu and charge different in the bill and when you ask them about it, the waiter replies rude saying "you can't put everything in the menu" without explaining and apologising for their misinformation. Although I appreciate the table cleaner who was polite and apologised.
