Visited this place after a long time for dinner. We had to wait for about half an hour and stepped into the restaurant by 9.45pm. I was surprised when I was told that thali is still available. I was craving for a perfect meal at the end of the day after a hectic schedule. The thali was really a blessing. On seeing it, immediately started eating and hence, the photo was clicked in the middle of having dinner. The dishes were all served hot. We ordered the madras meal. It had 2 poori, their signature dish and favourite among many. The mix veg kurma was perfect, not spicy at all but the texture was smooth. The rice was served hot with ghee. We had Sambar and rasam which was typical karnataka style. The Kaara kulambu was not spicy as well. The potato, peas n raw banana curry was good. The chow chow kootu tasted yummy. The Appalam was a big one. The raita n curd were good too. Finally, there was vanilla ice-cream to complete the meal. The ice-cream was really creamy and delicious. Would definitely recommend this place for the hot and fresh meals especially for dinner. The staff were courteous and the service was good.

We very much liked the Masala dosa and Cheese Dosa. We liked the Sambar and white chutney. Red chutney was not given. Nice traditional atmosphere. Note: We were from east India.

Traditional food still the same quality and taste... nostalgic ambiance.... sambar , poori potato , idly and mysore masala dosa the best

It's pure nostalgia, the ambience just reminded us of the old movie scenes. We went here for late lunch and had to wait since it was crowded and few tables were not serviceable. We got the table then again we had to wait for the rice. So have patience when visiting this place for lunch. Coming to Meals: Good Part: 1. Most of the items in the meals tasted good. 2. Gulab jamun was good. 3. Gongura thokku was great. Could have been better: 1. Everything in the plate was made of Dal even the Rasam was Dal Rasam, Dal, Sambar, Dal in vatha kuzhambu 2. Sides were mainly made from Potatoes. It would have been much better if there was more variety other than just Dal and Potato based dishes. 3. Also, the fruit bowl was not up to the mark. Looks like they cut and froze the fruits for a while and almost gave us a brain freeze. Taste - 3.5/5 Ambience - 4/5 Cost - Moderate Service - 3.5/5

Menaka restaurant - Palmgrove is a vintage restaurant, several decades old serving multi cuisine - pure vegetarian food. The hotel itself is old, remaining old fashioned as before which evokes nostalgic memories for us. Parking 5* (the only restaurant in that road with ample parking space!) Reception 3* Ambience 3* Cleanliness 4* Service 3* Choice of food 4* Taste and flavour 4* Value for money 4* Some waiters lack professionalism. Still, it’s one of the most sought after restaurants for veg lovers just because of the vintage feeling.

Been to this place quite a few times in the evenings and definitely recommend this place for decent veg food and value for money Idly and vada - both served hot and were yummy. Idlis had adequate ghee which was enriched the taste. Sambar was more of Karnataka style and was a bit sweet which is not my favourite Poori masala - my all time favourite here Coffee - ok North Indian meals - overall good but two of the side dishes were a bit sweet Value for money 👍🏻 Taste - good Overall 4/5

If you like to dine in a non fancy place, you should visit Palmgrove Menaka. Been visiting here for the last 20+ years. Very nice food and service. They are famous for their sambar and grape juice

I had been wanting to eat a hearty veg meals. I was so disappointed. Sambar was okay, rasam, vathakuzhambu were tasteless. The poriyals also nothing much to comment. Sub standard. I dint understand why the restaurant was so full. I had to wait twenty mins for the tasteless food was the worst part.

we have ordered for meals. except the parupu podi and ice cream nothing was good, no vegetables. only cabbage and keerai. not good. they should improve the quality

Alacarte breakfast is okay.. but the breakfast buffet is horrible. Not tasty and was charges were also exorbitantfor Dosa and idlies.
