I used to be big fan of ID when it operated in Sathyam Cinemas. Even though I used to go for Rs. 10 ticket, I didn’t mind spending for breakfast there which would be a full on meal for me who had to wait in queue for tickets and wait further for a long time to movie begin. My general breakfast would start with Kasi Halwa, a dish I tried there first and haven’t spotted anywhere else apart from there, followed by some Dosai, majorly Onion Rava Dosai and would end with a Filter Coffee, depending on the budget. Oh, those were the days… I tried to recreate the past by visiting ID in urban square on a non veg night. ID was the only appealing restaurant for me. Of course the Starbucks looks cool out there with its décor and all but Starbucks never appeals to me, especially when it’s crowded. You simply can’t unwind in a crowded café. The waiters were good there, they were swift in getting orders, arranging tables etc. Gave me Sathyam cinemas vibes, the first place where I found proper trained staffs in theaters who used to be polite. We got the seat on time and our first order blindly was Kasi Halwa. We followed it up by Ghee Pongal, Plain Dosai, Idiyappam with Vadacurry, Dosai Delight Combo where we opted for Garlic Podi Dosai and finally finished with Filter Coffee. First mistake was the food didn’t come in the right order. Kasi Halwa came after Idiyappam and Pongal. Even though good, Kasi Halwa couldn’t beat the taste that I had in my head. May be the memory being in my head for more than a decade had aggravated it exponentially. But it was piping hot, guess it was freshly made. Idiyappam was good as a standalone item but Kuruma was so-so, Vadacurry had too much masala. Pongal could have been a lot better. Nowadays i’m not liking Pongal anywhere, nothing could match the Pongal of old Saravana Bhavan. The closest it came was when I had in Annapoorna in Coimbatore. Plain Dosai was good, large and crispy, felt as if I was having Ghee Dosai. Garlic Dosai was a recent discovery, it gives the burnt garlic flavor, which you either love it or hate it. I loved it. But the chutney sambars were dampeners. Only onion chutney was good. Nothing extraordinary otherwise, that’s why it was an ordinary affair. Filter coffee was top notch.

Food was good regarding bill issues there was no proper response from manager end. There were offers in both Swiggy & zomato dinout they said they will accept only online orders but won’t accept payment through Swiggy & zomato wen asked about that manger went off some where no response very bad experience (when Swiggy & zomato team called no response to them too) he just ran off

Menu is not same as the one on district. They do not provide coffee with mini meals. Which hotel does that? Paid 200 for just idlies and a small portion of pongal.

only good marketing otherwise...poor hygiene, no proper cleanship, delayed response and average food. Not recommended at all.
