One of the best restaurant if you like Kerala or South Indian meals in general. Their service is fast and excellent. All good items are fresh and tastes amazing. I would have come to this place more than 20-30 times and the never disappointed. Value for money and great food and service.

Our experience at Kanji Kadai was quite good. We went for lunch and ordered Keera Kanji, Grandma s Kanji, meen polichadhu and chicken Biriyani. The fish was the best. Well spiced and cooked right. The chicken Biriyani was also quite tasty. All the kanji’s were nice and unique. They come with a dish of sides which can be refilled. The thogayal in particular was very good. They serve it even with Biriyanis. Overall it was good.

I like their food presentation. I have ordered for Bamboo biriyani which I tried out for the first time. The only core thing which I felt the biriyani doesn't have much gravy to mix with inside.

Food: Kozhi porichathu - Deep fried chicken which was roasted well by the skin and deeply infused flavors that made it juicy; though it had bones, the crunchiness, and the meat were pretty good 👍 Ghee rice with chicken curry - Kinda cold (both rice and curry); felt like it was reheated; the flavors were good, meat was okay, spicy but ain't hot 😌 Scrambled egg with chicken - Well fried, succulent & peppery meat, though had bones this was good with eggs 👌 Mutton biryani - Very bad biryani with the worst meat; very hard, almost a full bone, cold with little frills, didn't have any good impact even with the sides 🤕 Chicken kondattam - Bone chicken tossed in onions and sweet tomatoes, half of the plate had the gravy while the meat was decent. The distinct flavor of the meat and the sweet gravy was GOOD 👏 Mutton Chatti choru - Matta rice served with a veggie, kootu, and mutton gravy. The best way to have a bite is by mixing the spicy mutton gravy and the veggie with the rice, topping it up with crushed papadam, and swooping it in one bite, OH WOW, mild spiced, very real flavor and with the dry chili, this was the real stuff 😋 Ambiance/Price: The ambiance is not very pleasing since it gets all cramped up during the wee hours and there wouldn't be much space to sit and have a peaceful meal. Also, there is nothing like a table booking and it is all FIFO. Once you find your spot, the meals will be served swiftly. The service can be improved a lot since the communication gap still prevails. But the good thing is that since it is inside a food street, parking wasn't a concern. All the dishes were quite economical so Tummy was happy to have an authentic Kerala meal at a decent price

The Food here is pathetic where there will be No salt in Food - Even if we let them know they will say they will correct it next time charging you for the same saltless food. Especially I don't recommend Meals or any coconut based items in the dinner time since those are prepared during lunch time and when asked they will respond as if customers are lying to them I refrain reviewing this place for last 3 times considering they will work on them but No Hope NOT AT ALL A WORTH PLACE FOR KERALA FOOD I Recommend Kumarakom or Ammachi Veedu for reasonable and fresh food If any of you agree to my review - please feel free to help others with helpful button There is a person with spex and bald headed will only convince you to eat the food with whatever complaint you suggest

This restaurant was really good before covid 19. Recently we went there and had porota, chicken curry ( a small piece chicken with some gravy for 120), fish fry (Ayala) and fish mulakilitttah. Except porota rest of all were pathetic. A total disaster. The management should seriously look into the issues of both quality and quantity of the food.
