The best vegetarian food that you can get in entire Chennai. They are a part of the old heritage of Chennai as this restaurant is owned and operated by the infamous Dasaprakash Group! Let me call me to the food... Masala Dosa: Crispy on the outside and soft inside with a dollop of butter served on a small piece of banana leaf in the center. The potato masala is to die for... Not too spicy and not too sweet... Chutneys there are 3 types of chutneys served amazing taste... The sambar is to die for!!! Curd Rice: I promise you guys I have never tasted such a creamy curd rice ever before. When I saw the price against the curd rice i checked it twice. But when I tasted the first spoon of the dish, I never tasted anything so good in the last 17 years, since my Grandmother passed away... Coz it was like she has made put it in the serving cup and sent it to be served to me... Trust me, I might be born a vegetarian but I am not a vegetarian. This coming from a carnivore it's so amazing that, it has been a long time since I had such good food!!! Beautiful Ambience, great safety measures, the staff so kind and courteous, you will feel like you're at your grandparents' place if you were there. I loved and Kudos to the people who run this business... Rolls Royce Said it's really hard to keep things simple and also make it fit for a king. But Kapiladasa has achieved it... I think it's practice and the love they put in to preparing their food and run their business. Thank you. I feel that you guys are the Rolls Royce of Chennai vegetarian food.

A veggie legendary from the house of dasprakash ! The upgraded experience in the mall is good ! Quite a mix of southern northern along with baked varieties! Makes up for a good meal anytime. Spacious ambience ! Good courteous service ! Decent portions Must try - rasam vada , veg nut cutlet , kadabu with kairasa

It’s my first time in Chennai. And this is one of the best dosas I had in a long time . A must try for everyone 😀

It was an overall pleasant experience, and the food quality has been maintained to a commendable standard. The plating, flavours, and ambience together created the feel of a fine dining restaurant. One area that could be refined is the responsiveness to small but reasonable guest requests. I had asked for a sautéed green chilli instead of a raw one, but the captain declined outright. This is a simple request that would have taken barely a few minutes to execute, yet I was instead offered a *curd milagai* alongside my North Indian thali. For diners who take their food seriously, it is these finer details and the willingness to personalise that truly elevate a meal into a **fine** dining experience.

Located in a remote corner of the food court in Express Avenue is Kapila Dasa. Heard that their few seasoned staff are from the erstwhile Dasaprakash and airline catering - very courteous and attentive, that's once you get their attention. A decent vegetarian outlet with a quiet ambience and cozy seating. While most items on their menu are true to their regional flavours, their Italian fare needs refinement. Also, most items are quite overpriced.

Just go there for very specific items like the kadubu idli, rasam vada, masala dosa, kara dosa etc. i wont recommend them for their thali - be it north or south. If you like some specific items in south indian and want a repeat go there.

Their food quality is good but the cost is high for their quality. And they chatge 60rs for 20rs water bottle, why do they need to charge me 40rs extra if i pay service tax? They r spoiling the name of dasaprakash group.

South Indian Lunch thali was of poor quality. Definitely not worth ₹500. We won't dine there again.

North Indian Thali was horrible, Naan that wasn’t hot and also tasteless. Jeera rice was dry. To sum it up Indian Railways Shatabdi food would rate far higher than this. Highly expensive for the stale food .945/- for 2 . Unbelievable !

Below average food, heavily overpriced combined with bad service. Perfect recipe for a disastrous experience. Won’t recommend anyone to go. If I had to review this restaurant in one word - Pathetic would be the right one.
