This is my second time ordering a chicken biriyani from Kottayam cafe. Authentic kerala style biriyani. The quantity is generous with sufficient chicken pieces too!!! Ps : must try their parottas - for all the kerala style parotta craving people!!! Preferably dine in!!

Today ordered the MUTTON BIRIYANI and CHICKEN LEG FRY..., First before anything u read further.. The food was 😋😋😍.. I got it delivered to home. Got the packed food. With the smell I was able to guess which was biriyani and which was chicken. The biriyani had the aroma of The whole spices.. And the chicken had the aroma of fried onion 😍😍😁. The mutton pieces were so juicy wish if it was more spicy for me.. But no complaints too coz this is how a malabar biriyani tastes. Then coming to the chicken it will be the best for that price.. It was only 140 in Zomato.. For two leg pieces. Which was juicy. And topped with fried onions and a Tomato 🍅 which was fried too. The masala was so good that you wish you ordered their famous APPAM or PAROTTA along with it to add awesomeness to ur taste buds. On a whole this place never fails to amaze me everytime I order or eat here.. One of MUST TRY KERALA RESTAURANTS IN CHENNAI.. Taste.. Cost.. Quality.. All ll fall into place.. 👍❤️

Typical Kerala Style Authentic Restaurant at Chennai. Not a lot of great ambience but still good enough class to enjoy Kerala Style dishes. Ordered my all favourite Beef Roast and Kerala Porotta. The mysterious combo was Soo good. Porotta was so crispy and yummy. Beef Roast was extra special as the mint leaves and spicy gravy made it the best. One of the best beef I had in Chennai till now. Finished off with the vibrant Suliamani. Great place for Mallus to polish their favourite Kerala dishes. Hoping to try out their Biriyanis next time.

Let me Thank Zomato first to show this place. Ambience may not be gr8..Non AC & no big space for parking. But this all is not an issue once u taste the food. Awesome! Very economical too. Just 1 suggestion to management, when all price is economical ur omelette alone of Rs50/ is of higher side...Rest all Kudos....

Chilli Beef (Rs 120/-) One of the best chilli beef I've tasted. Super tender beef with exactly right amount of spice. Every bite was bliss. Beef fried rice(Rs 100/-) Pocket friendly and amazing taste... But could have been a bit more spicy.. But it really doesn't matter... You will enjoy every bite..!

Nice tasty Kerala food. Tried the beef roast and Kerala paratha from here. Made my day. It was warm and had decent quantity. The parathas were typical Kerala style flaky ones. Would be back to try other dishes.

A colleague actually suggested me this joint for an authentic Kerala food (Just beside Amma canteen , water tank ) . So tried this during Sunday lunch time . I prefer an authentic Kerala meals compared to any other South Indian meals ,sorry but trying to be honest because the porials and sides matches my state food upto a good extent 😊 Here the experience was not that bad but food was not served hot as they cited timing issue as the reason behind . But fetched 1 point less otherwise a heartfelt 4 would have been given Sambar was great , thick and filled with vegetables as expected..like a North Indian Dal with south Indian tamarind and hingu touch Rasam was equally good with clear aromas of garlic The coconut gravy thick porial was more like a thick dalma of Odisha The beans porial was more like a beans fry with grated coconut .. The pachiri ( kadi type ) was ok and can be slightly improved Appam was very oily and returned . Please serve better appams Mango Pickle was not very spicy and fits my taste buds Last but not least the lukewarm & PINK ayurveda water was the need of the hour.. Staff behavior : ok but can be improved . Parking : narrow lane , so difficult for cars but bikes yes to be on road side Cheers but serve me hot food and red rice to get a heartfelt 4 from me 😜 Cheers !
