Amazing place with wonderful food. Gautham gave us some great dishes, such as the calamari and jumbo prawns. All in all, loved the place a lot.

We had traveled here for an hour just for the seafood and great hype about the place. Ordered prawn fry and they were very rubbery and too much masala. Unable to chew . Quite a bad experience.

In spite of so many bad reviews of late, I went to this restaurant because we had internally made a pact to have squid only at this restaurant. But it was an absolute debacle. We went on a pongal day and parked our car nearby. There were three restaurant nearby with similar name and everyone were trying to scout us into their restaurant. We went to the first one which was a roof top, it had absolutely no ambience and the place felt sketchy. When we inquired for the car parking, the way the valet snatched our key got me scared. So went away from the first restaurant. After looking around and confirming about the original Moon Rakers restaurant, we parked our car at the same place and entered. The place gave a feel of dingy bar. We chose the first floor space which was so unkempt. We ordered Prawn Fried Rice which was nothing but normal fried rice with bit of fried prawns thrown in. Quantity was very less. Tawa Calamari, the dish for which we went, was given in a good quantity but was super spicy and could be had only with beer. Rice and Fish Curry was atrociously priced for Rs. 350. In fact everything was super expensive and wasn’t worth the money. We quickly escaped that place and found out apparently both the restaurants were run by brothers and the valet was indeed legal. To come out of this experience, I need to go to a proper restaurant in Mahabs, preferably with a sea view where I can catch up with a beer or two. Suggest me some please.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Visited MoonRakers after several years and now I am seething in rage. My husband and I are now sick and undergoing dysentery after eating in Moonrakers. I am infact trying to lodge a complaint about this place. The prawns were so so so BAD. Too much masala, not deveined, full of oil. The fish curry was again very mediocre. The biggest nuisance is that all of this food is neither fresh nor hygienic. They are notably older day’s cooking. Paying such an exorbitant price to eat stale food that has hurt our health is super disappointing.

The food is horrible. I had a terrible experience. Items ordered were Mixed spaghetti, mixed fried rice and butter garlic prawn. The butter garlic prawn had no traces of butter it in 😳😳😳 The mixed spaghetti had no cheese in it. When i asked them why, they said they don’t have cheese in their recipe 😦😦😦 Now coming to the fried rice, the squid and prawns were very hard to chewy. I had to literally discard it. If you are looking for a good quality food and decent dining experience, This restaurant is a BIG NO!!!!

My husband and I went to Moonrakers since we really like their tawa masala dishes and seafood. I usually love their masala, but what we ordered today was not at all up to the mark. I don’t know what happened to the old Moonrakers — the food was below average, and we couldn’t even finish it. Even the regular fried rice didn’t taste good. ₹900 was a total waste of money. After receiving three orders, we cancelled the fourth one and left. This is not the Moonrakers we know — I really don’t know what happened.

The Person has cheated me in selling fish Masala….one box of Masala is 500 rs whereas he took 1000 rs for a single Masala box…also he demanded a tip for his act of cheating….food was not that quality enough. They are becoming a big hoax of Mahabalipuram.it’s better you remove them from these portals as they are very unfair people to be part of quality business. Being there and handling of those people forcing for tip is better not to step in these type of restaurant.

please do not book the place via Zomato. The restaurant faces difficulties and concerns due to the poor service via zomato I have prebooked the place by paying for slots now I am not able to pay via zomato and the restaurant is denying the discount that I have paid and booked for Please come directly and the owner will give you a 10% discount

Not worth the hype! Been there earlier but now it has completely lost its charm along with taste, quality, and hygiene. The place could be more cleaner being a pricy restaurant. Service is bad too!
