A very good veg restaurant… busy mornings in weekend… Have tried couple of times and never disappointed. tried varieties of breakfast items (idli, pongal, masala dosa, onion podi oothapam, sweet pongal…. served along with three varieties of chutney and sambar; with podi and oil available on additinal cost. service was good but couldn’t recognize the respective dishes taste little pricey but a must try place 👍🏾

Tried their ghee podi idli served with four types of chutneys. The idli wasn't as soft as I'a liked, but the chutneys really stole the show. Each one was unique, best tried with a plain idli. A mandatory Jigarthanda to end the meal - it was what one would expect from a quintessential Jigarthanda.

A pretty popular name in Chennai when it comes to South Indian cuisine. Yes, as the name suggests they stick to Idli and Dosa, along with a few other breakfast dishes, but they are known for their authentic dining experience as a whole. I visited here on a busy weekend night, and could see people from all stratas of the society, even bunch of foreigners, 'slurping' on something or the other (you'll realise why I said slurping soon enough!). There is no ambiance as such, just some decent tables and chairs. The staff don't speak Hindi, but ordered something from the menu isn't a hassle. We tried their GHEE PODI IDLI, RAVA DOSA, MEDU WADA and FILTER COFFEE. The authentic dining experience I mentioned is all thanks to being served on a fresh banana leaf. Then comes your order, with the side of 4-5 chutneys and sambhar, all on top of the leaf/idli or dosa, and not separated by bowls. They don't even give spoon to eat it with, this the only way left to eat chutney and sambhar is to 'slurp' them from your fingers, which is, though a good one time experience, highly inconvenient and inefficient way of eating. Taste wise Murugan idli is amazing! But this way of eating makes everything very soggy, especially if you like it crunchy, like the rava dosa. I also found it a bit expensive compared to other eateries that I tried. Most likely it's because of the popularity that it now commands. I would recommend people to try this restaurant chain out, but i wld have enjoyed it even more of there were small bowls and spoons, atleast for customers who want them. Happy Burping!!!

It's expensive and the food is definitely not worth the price .The food is decent but the service needs improvement,it's slow and sambar chutney is delayed after main dish is served and no water is given in table without asking 3-4 times .Better to avoid in weekend crowds . Sakkarai Pongal is amazing .

Ordered Ghee Podi Idly, Onion Uthapam, Mysore Masala Dosai, Sambar Vadai finished with coffee and Jigarthanda. Sambar was plain without any flavour. Absolute No go for this place for sambar, MMD was too spicy for me. Vadai had no flavour. The only thing that made sense was podi idly. ₹487.

How are there soooo MANY flies in a closed air conditioned space. This is so unhygienic. Why should customers keep having to chase away flies and not be able to eat peacefully?

Overhyped restaurant and terrible. It took forever to take order and then long time to service sides and no one bothered to check on availability of water and aftermath. You get better idlis and dosa varieties in many other places.

the taste of the food was very ordinary. The sambar was bland. The coconut Chutney is tasteless.
