A visit to Chennai is incomplete without a breakfast at any of the Murugan Idli outlets. Hence the first thing I did after reaching Chennai was to find the nearest Murugan Idli. Conveniently, there was one near the railway station. The ambience and service is like you'd expect in a quick serve breakfast place like this. I tried a bunch of things this time apart from the signature Ghee Podi Idli. Ghee Podi Idli has always been the MVP. Super soft Idlis covered with a layer of ghee podi and served with 4 different chutneys (coconut, garlic, coriander and tomato) and sambhar. The Ghee podi dosa however wasn't that great since the dosa itself has a distinct flavour and it was overshadowed by the podi. The Paniyaram was a treat. Would've liked it slightly softer though. Also tried the Jigarthanda for the first time and loved it. It's a Chennai special concoction made from milk, ice cream and nannari syrup (made from herb Sarsaparilla). You can't go wrong with Murugan Idli. If spoilt for choices, go for the Ghee podi Idli. Does not disappoint. Also, do have the Jigarthanda. Until next time.

I'm a major idli fan and this place has the best podi idli ever. They have 4 different kinds of chutney that go along with it. Make sure you ask for the podi with ghee to go along with your idli/dosa. A must try is the podi idli and onion rava dosa.

Ghee podi idli and masala dosa with podi. I bought podi masala as well. Now i can say that chennai has the best authentic idli, differnet than any idli i tried anywhere.

Had this restaurant in my wishlist for a long time. But was a little apprehensive especially after reading all the negative comments about the behaviour of the staff and the manager. But fortunately enough, had quite a nice experience at the restaurant today Yes, the waiters did not seem to comprehend much English Yes they asked me to change my seat since I had come for lunch all by myself Yes my Jigarthanda was not served at the table and had to consume it outside in the scorching heat of the afternoon sun But as soon as that banana leaf was laid in front of me with the sumptous ghee podi idlis and the Rava Dosa, it made up for all the initials shortcomings BUT YES THE MANAGER OF SUCH A REPUTED FOOD CHAIN NEEDS TO BUILD UP A LITTLE MORE OF A CORDIAL DEMEANOUR ALONG WITH SPOKEN ENGLISH SKILLS to deal with customers who do not belong to the state Overall - A Thumbs up 👍🏼

Murugan was just beside the hotel I was staying in, in Chennai, just 5 mins walking distance from the Railway Station. Amazing place to try out the traditional South Indian dishes. This place has a wide variety of dosas and many other South Indian items. I ate a masala dosa. It was very tasty, the masala was also very delicious, and the taste of the sambar was just out of this world. It has a lot of outlets in Chennai, a must try for everyone visiting the city.

Idli wada's to die for. Hands down.  There variety of chutney and sambar is amazingly tasty. Visit to chennai will never go without visiting this place. I tried onion uttapa, The taste was so good crispy onion on top still feel the yumm feeling in my mouth.  Must try in chennai.

When in doubt go Murugan. One of the most iconic dosa idli chains in the whole of Chennai and TN. Murugan has turned into a household name. The idlis are super soft and moist and just melts away while you roll your tongue. Overall a great experience

Good food . Generous serving and friendly staff. Worth a try while you are in chennai. The servings are really quick. Less waiting time even when its busy. Nice place. Quite busy though.

Nice food, value for money! But the place isn’t as good as fine dining or even a normal restaurant so please consider before going there! Only T nagar outlet is perfect crafted!

Today I'm shocked of how supervisors& restaurant ppl of murugan idly park station take customers for granted. I bought a jigarthanda for 65rs. The ice cream was melted and was really pathetic to eat,I was like drinking milk. When I reached out to be the supervisor he told "ellam appadi onnum panna mudiyathu. I asked I'm paying for it right? He started to confront us and abuse us. Also went on to tell enna vennum nallum panniko enga vennalum sollu nu ". We were shocked by arrogance. Customer are the fundamental of businesses. It lost a loyal customer! If the supervisor itself has such attitude I wonder how the staff will behave.
