Northeast Kitchen, Egmore - So this place is one of a kind place in Chennai! You see most of the authentic places across the city aren't fancy but still heavy on pocket! This is definitely one such place, but spoiler alert ITS WORTH IT! . This place is located right opposite to Ethiraj college in a complex where you'll find Donut house! This is tugged to the left side of the building and will be hard to find! You enter this place and you'll find it very basic but super comforting! No awkward looks, no awkward managers to talk to 😂 (sorry)! It's plain old basic restaurant run by a family and the smile will make you feel home! . You trust an authentic restaurant when people from that part of the country come to eat food! This place is packed with them (trying not to be racist) which is a sign that they are good at what they do! . Okay so we order chicken and beef Ramyun, momos and something 🙊🙈 So the menu will kinda confuse you coz most of them are new and the owner/cook doesn't know English! So it's a struggle but a really fun one 😂 We finally placed orders and the food was AMAZING! LIKE SOOOOOOO GOOD! 😍 . Yes the service will be very slow since every item is made to order by the same person! So paavum, let him take his time! We lived the experience! The Ramyun comes with Sides of veggies which obviously I didn't finish 😂 They have a variety of dishes ranging from mildly spicy to very spicy! Choose wisely 😂😂 . Overall, yes it's a little bit expensive but then that's what you pay for exclusivity!

We ordered the below menu
Naga King Chilly Beef + sticky rice
Pork Ribs
Beef Ramyun Noodles
Bosam (Pork Belly with Veggies)

This place should be known for its awesome pork delicacies at such nominal rates. They dont skimp on quantity or quality. We went as a group of three, and we generally try to get the beef/pork dishes as only Chicken/Mutton/Prawn is only predominantly available everywhere in Chennai. We came across this gem of a place which needs a lot more recognition, because they served authentic north eastern flavours coupled with brilliant service. Every pork dish will probably be awesome as the steal of the show were mostly Pork dishes (Bosam[Must Try] and Ribs).
Ramyun Noodles was spicy and the Beef was crispy, Naga Chilly Beef with Sticky rice was melt in the mouth and we also tried a Octopus dish which was kind of meh. Dont miss out on the Pork dishes here, Heavenly !! The best part was they gave us free Watermelon slices at the end to clean our palate after such a heavy/fatty meal :) It doesnt have the classiest of ambiences but the courteous staff will surely attract more people, not to mention such nominal prices are a steal. I will be visiting them soon, hope you do too :)

If you want to have authentic NE food with the focus only on flavours then search no more, this is the place. Food: Chicken Thukpa – A wholesome mild-spiced noodle soup with chicken, veggies and lot more of the broth; the meat was slightly crunchy, but the real hero was the veggies. The carrots, bell peppers, cilantro was all fresh with the taste of lotus root dominating the bowl Chicken Fried Momo – The homemade taste was spot-on in this dish; it was very soft while the crunchiness was only in bits and pieces; it had more of meat and with the chilli dip, this is good. Special Meal all curry plate definitely has to be the most exotic plate I’ve ever tried, Mixed veg sprout – Fresh, full of proteins and was sour Iromba – Spicy mashed potatoes with green veggies, one of a kind Green leaves – Kind of half-cooked but yes, definitely flavourful Boiled mix veg – Broccoli, carrot and beans; pretty bland and cold Kimchi – Spicy radish pickle; was springy with all the flavours Fried crispy nuts – Kind of sweet, crunchy to serve as THE snack Chicken curry with Sticky rice – Spicy gravy with soft chicken wings; with the rice, it was definitely on a different level (Need to try their beef and pork too) To finish up the meal was a complimentary watermelon which helped to alleviate the spiciness. Ambience/Price: This is a decent outlet with good seating space and mall parking facility. There are no complaints about the service, but the price is of concern. Not many would be happy with the Quantity:Price ratio (I personally felt it); can improve on the same.

I really loved the beef soup. Its was watery but perfectly cooked since I am not a fan of thick soups. The egg fried rice quantity was too less and had bland taste. Pork in naga King chillies was an average dish since it was spicy I liked it but was too oily. Beef curry was good to go with egg fried rice. The curry was too thick and beef was well cooked.

The food here is worst than the stale food, absolutely no safety and hygiene followed in preparation of food. Pork and beef are not at all dewormed which will cause serious health implications. My friend abdul liked Pork a lot and rest all was bad
