Rustic Charm & Homestyle Comfort on ECR Stumbled upon this rustic, quaint highway diner during a long weekend drive down the East Coast Road. What looked like a modest roadside stop turned out to be a hidden gem — dimly lit interiors, warm ambience, with a mix of lawn seating, family dining, and cozy upstairs spots for smaller groups. We only dropped in for some finger food — regular fries, salt & pepper mushrooms, fish 65 and chicken cutlets — and were instantly won over. The cutlets were a standout: crispy, comforting, and just like the ones you’d have at home. Everything had that unmistakable homestyle touch. Their specials menu was a lovely surprise — carefully curated and flavour-forward. The Malabar-style chicken curry with flaky parottas was rich and delicious, and the virgin mojitos were crisp and refreshing. Great music, unhurried vibe, and genuinely warm service — owner Kay and the staff made us feel right at home. Can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu — especially the desserts next time around.

I’ve been to Outback multiple times and everytime has always been awesome and never disappointing. They make everything fresh and to your need and give the best recommendations. It’s pet friendly too!!! Says a lot about how loving and homely the place is. Must try!!!!

We had a mix of Indian and Continental. Chettinad Fish was nice. Pasta Chicken was a bit bland. They also organized a birthday party for us and did a decent job.

The starter was pretty good. Disappointed with the steak and Malaysian curry laksa. The steak was average. Though I ordered medium rare, the steak was not juicy and salt has not penetrated the steak and it’s not worth 750. Curry laksa tasted average and it tasted more like red Thai curry and not brothy or comforting, not value for the money you pay. We send the chocolate cake back, since it smelled liked mushroom. Honestly won’t give a second visit. Just giving a generous rating

From the time we entered, though we had a prebooking, we were told that the place is fully booked even though it had empty tables with literally no one. We were asked to leave without an apology. If the restaurant is booked for the night why was the table booking accepted? The guy Lakshman blamed Zomato. After coming out I reached out to Zomato support and this Lakshman guy lied to Zomato saying I asked for a specific seat and since he could not offer it, I left the restaurant. I told Zomato rep to conference my call with the owner and immediately they said there is some confusion and that I can come. The same Lakshman guy again came and took the order without any guilty feeling or still no apology for his behaviour and attitude. Then comes the finishing touch by the same Lakshman guy again - the mac and cheese that we requested to parcel went missing and the guy said it is misplaced and he is not able to find it. Without any curtesy he said to wait so he can make the dish again, I denied and then he said he will refund. He started bargaining the refund and then without logic returned 400 for a 600 odd priced dish. I am never going back to this place. If I was the owner, I would definitely not have such people in my restaurant who is ruining the restaurant name.

We came to restaurant at 12.30pm. and we left at 3pm. That should quickly summarise the level of service at this place. Multiple mistakes made on the order taken, literally we were the first patrons in that afternoon but still the service was extremely slow and shoddy. Ambience horrible, the roof allows daytime heat to percolate and the tiny ACs doesn't do any justice in maintaining ambient temps. Moreover there is no power backup and we sitting there sweating through multiple power cuts without even a fan. Lastly there was no power to generate a bill and they had to do it manually which they took around 15mins! On top of all this, for this kind of service the bill was equivalent to a star hotel. Atrocious.

Taste wise no that good, we ate squid fitters, golden fried prawn and drunken beef noodles. Price is not worth for the taste they provide. Drunken noodles was mentioned as must try, but it was horrible and tooooo spicy not able to eat more than 2 spoons. I hope road side shops have better taste. waste of money waste of time You can be here for just a romantic ambiance but not for food.

The taste and quality of food needs to be improved, too much of ginger in the noodles that we ordered. Nothing unique in the food. Ambience is the only good part. Won’t recommend

Ordered roasted pumpkin soup and Thai spicy basil fried roce and garlic bread … everything tasted pathetic
