An authentic South Indian family restaurant located in the heart of the T. Nagar market. Though there was a short wait in the queue, the pleasant ambiance and super-fast service made it worthwhile. What I tried: • Lassi – ₹100 • Curd Vadai – ₹100 (1/5) • Podi Idly Fry – ₹138 (5/5) • Masala Dosai – ₹114 • Butter Roast Dosai – ₹142 • Chilli Cheese Dosai – ₹161 The Lassi was refreshing, but the Curd Vadai was quite bland and lacked flavor. However, the Podi Idly Fry was outstanding — spicy fried idlis tossed with vegetables, a unique and flavorful dish that’s clearly their specialty. Among the dosas, the Chilli Cheese stood out as the best. While the dosas weren’t very crispy, they were well-prepared, served on banana leaves, and paired with mildly flavored chutneys that complemented them nicely. Given its prime location, the prices are surprisingly affordable. A must-visit spot for families looking to enjoy authentic South Indian food after a shopping spree in T. Nagar.

Balaji Bhavan is in busy Pondy bazaar serving pure veg delicacies. Suitable for quick and pocket friendly dining. Parking 1* Reception and service 3* Menu options 5* Ambience 3* Cleanliness 4* Taste and flavour 5* Value for money 5* Guntur podi idli - all time favourite. Hot idli coated with spicy podi simmering in gingerly oil. Followed by, the no-brainer - onion othappam. Good breakfast sets the mood for a successful & happening day.

nice hotel to have vegetarian food at a reasonable cost in the t nagar area. the ambience at the ground floor is not so great but it is okay. car parking is bit inconvenient due to the space and the location. service was done promptly and clean.

Besides the string of A2B outlets, Sri Balaajee Bhavan has been a silent operator for years now. We visited their outlet at Pondy Bazaar Chennai recently after what feels like eons. The seating areas are the very same and the ambience has taken a beating. Service was moderate and the price is still pocket friendly. Thankfully, the food has been consistent over the years. Be prepared for a wait time during lunch hours.

Better than other eateries near by Pondy Bazaar. Bit costly but provide quality food with adequate quantity. Was a life saver when we visited Chennai, as most of the eateries offer bad quality food at higher prices too

The food was not nice. I ordered iddiyappam, rava masala dosa, podi idli fry and set dosa. None of it felt authentic and the taste was below average.

So, after many trips to this place, here it is. The least you can do is to be polite and equal in service. Waiters cimmenting loudly in some woman, sub par food and shabby service. Sad to see this in tnagar

yesterday My husband and I went to this hotel in Pondy Bazaar for dinner. ate plain dosa and it is not at all satisfactory.
