Ordered Chapatti on line. Quite happy with the quality and tasty side dish and onion raitha. Keep going Amirtham ... We are regular customers to buy sweets and snacks from here. And they are one of the well known outlets in Vadapalani/Virugambakkam area. We tried dinner in the restaurant and it was a good experience and in a lovely ambiance. Service was also good. Hope they continue with Restaurant service more seriously. 11.02.2019. Sadly we find Chapattis are not seen in your Menu for Home delivery these days. I don't know why it was removed from the Menu. I have been talking to people at Grand Sweets Amirtham T.Nagar and at Vadapalani to include Chapattis in the Menu. Hope they will take immediate action atleast now. 28.04.2019. Hello, Grand Sweets Amirtham, Please be sensitive to your customer's requirements/ comments. You have still not included Chapattis in your Menu. Aloo Chapatti is in your Menu. But not Chapattis with side dish. You are supplying this item, but you have not yet included in your Menu. Why ??? I have spoken to your T Nagar unit and to your Team. But Sadly No Action Yet. We are disappointed. Please do the needful asap. Please do act quickly.

Basundi takeaway! It was neatly bottled up in a pot-shaped plastic container. The quantity seemed less, but trust me, you cannot finish just by yourself. Overall, it was a overly sugar-laden dessert! Being named as 'kungumapoo basundi', it wasn't garnished with a single strand of saffron and didn't taste different from any normal one. Rating: 3.5 ================================= Editing a week later cz I tried Kachori and samosa there. One word : wow! No oil. Literally no shiny-oil-layer above it. Super-tasty! Oh yeah! Samosa had cashew nuts too. Rating: 4.5 ============ Averaging it out Overall Rating: 4

A nice place. Friendly ambience and courteous service. But I notice all items on the menu as we go in person are not reflected on the menu by zomato.

#139. Reviewed on 29-Dec-14:- Went to GSS to get some sweets for my colleagues. Since it was lunch time, decided to have lunch at their restaurant -Amirtham. They have limited menu for lunch, 3 types of rices, mini meals, meals, chapathi & parotta. Dosa's, idlies, etc.. Would be available in the evening after 4. Decided to go with mini meals, which includes 3 rices(Sambar, Lemon & Curd) , chapathi/kurma & payasam. All the items were good, too much ghee on sambar rice. Semiya payasam was too milky, couls be more thicker. Decent quantity for one. There was only one waiter who served all the tables, when I enquired, came to know that others were on leave. Due to that service was little slow. Decent ambiance for veg restaurant, around 50 can be accommodated. It was more than half occupied even on the weekday. I guess on weekends, it might be fully occupied. Enough space for parking few cars & two wheelers. Located on Arcot road, who ever goes from virugambakkam to Vadapalani, located on left hand side, one cannot miss the huge GSS logo. Took a curd rice parcel for my friend, she liked the curd rice. Got chocolate cake(half milk & half chocolate peda) for colleagues, it costs around 450 per kg. Sweet was gud, everyone liked. Even their sweets are limited & some of them expensive like rasagulla & Gulab Jamoon costs ₹45 for single piece. Overall a decent veg restaurant with very limited options for lunch & options are more in the the evening.

Grand sweets and snacks has opened lot of outlet throughout the Chennai over years. I liked their sweets. Even snacks are good in few outlet but not fond of their food. Nevertheless whenever I go to Saligrammam to get my serviced car I have dinner here. This place is easy to locate. Just opposite to Bharani hospital. Opposite to the passport Kendra street. Have ample space to park the vehicles. They have both sweet shop and restaurant which serves chat items, south Indian food etc. Ambiance is decent and good. Seating in sofa is not great. Table looks higher while sitting in it. Actually it pains after sometime. Service is good. Even speed of delivery of food is good. I ordered Kanchipuram idly and adai aviyal. Idly is hot and soft. It is accompanied by sambar and thogayal. Idly especially with sambar is excellent. Then came adai which is also good. Aviyal is decent. Will get Coconut oil taste which I don't mind. Price is reasonable. Value for money. Kindly note this review and rating is only based on those 2 food items I tried few times. Haven't tried anything else. Tip to Customers: 1. Choose chair than Sofa for having food comfortably. 2. If you don't like Coconut oil taste in aviyal, try adai with sambar and Coconut chutneys which will also be equally good.

A simple south Indian restaurant (has recently introduced north Indian dishes in the menu)!!! Love their paniyarams which come with a delicious tomato chutney!! Their chola bhatura is yummilicious!!! They have a decent thali but is a little over priced.. Their soft appams and idiyappams are good.. The parottas taste great with the channa masala that comes along with them!! A little high on the prices!! A good place for a family dinner!!

Amirtham I guess is new array of restaurants by The Grand Sweets and Snacks. This branch is small, next to the sweet/snack counter. Amirtham is a pure vegetarian restaurant, comfortable interiors and walls adorned with tempting pictures of Kancheepuram Idly, Mini Idlies bathing in sambar, etc. They are open till 10pm, so at 9.30pm when I arrived - I didn't have much luck with Kancheepuram Idly, Rawa dosa or Dahi vadas. Started with Kuzhi Paniyaram, which arrived in 5minutes. They were big , little overcooked and hard. The sambar served with it was too salty, so we finished it off with the onion chutney. Next, we ordered Idly. Idly was soft, and hot. Loved it with the non-salty version of sambar and lovely coconut chutney. Appams were available, and the lovely appams served hot disappeared in minutes with coconut milk. Then we asked for sambar vada. I have no complains on the vada, but the chef messed up the sambar that day. The salt content was unimaginably high to even bite the vada. I guess, it was a bad day at Amritham but can we forgive the messed up sambar?? Staff was courteous to bring us another plate of sambar vada, but we refused anything that comes along with sambar. They didn't charge for the sambar vada. Prices are similar to Sangeetha group, and my bill for 1plate paniyaram, 2 appams and 1 plate of Idly was Rs200. Yes that's reasonable. Portions are not bad, so if they get their basic sambar right - I would outright give them a higher rating. Overall, a good place to enjoy South-Indian delicacies if you wanna avoid the crowded Saravana Bhavan/Sangeetha.

. Train travel, Non-Chennai person, snacks to munch on and distribute to hazaar people back home and I end up at the most popular name. The Grand Sweets and snacks. I don't know if they are a chain or franchise but the murukkus and thattai's I had here were ordinary. I liked the Pepper and Garlic thattai but murukkus were nowhere in comparison to one's I had years ago which used to melt in the mouth. Was recommended by my relative to go here as its very close to their place, has seating arrangement and serves the best chaats in that localty. Good points - The packing of the items( double packed and airtight) appreciate the small nuances to their brand building exercise. The place is clean, the staff is courteous, the menu to choose from is limited.

Wanted to have veg lunch and at the same time my mom.Wanted to get sweets..so decided to hit this place. We guy who took our order was eating something all the while and had something one his lips..later we ordered 2 meals. One chilli paneer and one lime juice. The meals was the worst I have had in my life.bland,no taste, had 2 vegs, the rice was sufficient but nothing great at all. The chilli paneer they was even more worst .the paneer was not fried and the gravy was sweet. Sweet as hell. The lime juice was bitter and bad. Even though my mom insisted me to call the waiter and change the food. I knew for a fact that if I told the guy to change it he will act weird and spoil my food. The another shock was the bill it reached Upto 455 jus for these stuffs ...total waste and will never do this mistake again

₹500 for two
