It was an unplanned visit to the place.🏨🏨 Hail the Rain😃😃 Absolutely loved the pleasing ambience😍😍. Food was little blunt in taste🙄🙄 Definitely not a pick for South Indians. Varieties were decent enough.🥗🥗t would have been great if a dedicated person👩🍳👩🍳 is allocated for each table to help the customers to get what they wanted. We had to wait for 5 mins to grab a serving person's attention for every small item we needed.🙍🙍

Spacious and elegant, the natural light just adds to the charm of this beautiful café located in Holiday Inn. The buffet spread is an elaborate one making it one of the best in the cities. The place is popular for its buffet and the massive spread it serves. The variety of bread and the lavish dessert spread is sure to take you in a dreamland

If I could rate it in minus, I would. The worst way to start my birthday and it happened here. 24.10.2018. We entered the property around 10.15am only to be told that Cafe G the restaurant is closed for breakfast and we could sit at the Lounge cafe and boy were we in for a horrible experience. The entire corridor comprisomg of Score Bar, Cafe G and The Lounge were deserted, even by staff. Unsure, we sat and waited for over fifteen minutes before I had to walk towards the other restaurant to request a menu. We had to call back for the staff to take or order ten minutes after the menu was handed to us. staff, Miss. Dorothy took the order and seemed very unsure of herself. Ten minutes after she had taken our order she came with another menu stating that it's the Cafe G restaurant menu but we could order from that too. It was confusing cause when we asked to be seated there, the same staff told us they were closed for orders.. on being given another menu to look at, we asked the staff to hold on to the current order as we were still looking at the new one. On going through the menu, we found most of the dishes to be the same as ok The Lounge's menu, at an extra pricing and when we asked why, we were told the quantity was making the difference in pricing?! We weren't looking for large portions so firmly told the staff to go ahead with our initial order. 40 minutes after our arrival I had to walk again to request for water for the three of us, only for staff Mr.Amit to return with to glasses for three of us. Frustrated, we shared our water and waited for our dishes. Nearly one hour into our wait, I saw the staff who took our order casually walking around and when I asked her on the progress with our dishes, she said "but I thought you cancelled it?" Now, even if by chance I had cancelled it or she thought I had, isn't it the staff's duty you take a new order or do we sit in restaurants for free without ordering food? Logic just blew right out of the window. She walked away confused as we asked her to repeat our order and she remembered only two of the five dishes. A while later, Amit again comes asking us to repeat the order. It was the last straw. I had to walk to the reception on the ground floor and complain at the help desk over this unacceptable attitude from the staff. Soon, they sent their Manager to take over, who was courteous and polite and had to ask us to repeat the order again to ensure we were served ASAP. By then, three other friends joined us and we had to pull in our own chairs after trying to adjust in a table for four with 6 of us. We had to beg for atleast the Cappuccino to be served first. How hard is it to get coffee? The Cappuccino was without doubt one of the better dishes of the day. Followed by Minestrone Verdure that was just tangy in a watery consistency with no taste of the vegetables whatsoever.. none of us wanted to waste food and my friend finished the dish with a lot of effort. The bread accompaniment that came along with the soup was taken away mid way through our meal and we were clueless why. Soon followed the white sauce veg penne pasta which was served with a garlic bread slice that was as normal as it would be anywhere else. There was a plate of pasta and 6 of us and when I requested staff Mr.Amit to serve us with plates, his question was, "you need so many plates for one dish? Have you ordered anything else, I'll bring it along with that" It shocked all of us, his condescending tone as well as his mentality. Even if I were to head to a local fast food shop and ordered one dish and requested two plates extra, I'd have been served the same. We were very surprised to find this kind of poor service from a star hotel facility. I had to raise my tone n insist on the extra plates asking if he expected us to eat from the serving plate. And even if a client is ordering just one dish, does that make them any less of a client? Had to beg a thousand times over for just salt and pepper. The veg chili cheese sandwich was average, the grilled chicken sandwich the same, with fries. We had ordered the Fish and chips that was a solace in all this mess, the fish so soft and perfectly cooked. My strawberry milkshake order was forgotten and I wish they'd forgotten the cold coffee too the same way.. It felt as if they just added coffee and milk powder to a glass of water and was served. We couldn't go past 1/3rd of the glass. There was nobody to order the dessert too and I had to again walk around searching for staff to take our order. Now, when eating, who orders a whole Cake? I'm asking the staff for Tiramisu and he's sarcastically replying with, "cake is 1kg". I had to elaborate that we wanted a slice to eat that was decent and a blueberry muffin that was a little dry but passable. It was I was had to again go around asking for the bill, by then the manager was notified of my displeasure with the cold coffee and soup and the coffee was waived and when I told the staff that I wanted to meet him, the soup was waived off too.. it took the staff alot of time to return to take my payment as well. I doubt if anyone would've even noticed if a bunch of 6people had just walked out from the 3rd floor without paying, they were least bothered by their surroundings. The bill came to Rs.2000 and odd for 2.Cappucinno 1. White sauce pasta 1. Veg sandwich 1. Chicken sandwich 1. Fish and fingers 1. Muffin 1.tiramisu. The prices were nominal from the lounge list and I have no complaints there. Further, the manager brought in the chef who wanted to discuss further about the soup and the cold coffee and once I gave my review, they heard of my ordeal with the service and thoroughly apologized for the inconvenience caused and asked us to head to the Cafe G restaurant for lunch buffet 50% off as it was around 1.30 by the time we were done and they wanted to mend the damage done. Worn out completely by the worst start to my birthday, we just wanted to vacate as it was already late and we were keeping others waiting elsewhere.. the chef offered a pastry of red velvet as a sign of making peace that I accepted and passed on to a friend. We walked out and decided never to step foot ever again. I guess unless you are in for the corporate buffet, you will be ignored like it's not great business to them. I highly recommend everybody to refrain from heading there for a la carte, all this after confirming the previous day off their timings and the menu and the likes.
