Ambassador Pallava egmore is hosting a spinach festival at Society Restaurant 🔰 . Never knew spinach could be made into these many varieties and tasty at the same time The starters were very filling and definitely worth going for the festival. 😃 The buffet spread consists of various dishes both veg & non veg and also has multiple varieties of spinach based dishes . There’s music played live , Old and grand ambience and friendly waiters . Do visit the restaurant and check out this festival ( July 21&22) . It’s definitely a worthy meal . . Sharing here a few favorites of mine : 1) Spinach spanakopita : A spinach based samosa , you could do a cheese pull out of it too 2)Soup : Cream of Spinach soup . Good yet not great 3)Spinach Pakoda : the papdi chat preparation where papdi is replaced by a corn crisper 4)Spinach Vada : it’s not the Keera vadai we usually have . It’s Ulundhu vadai with Keerai which is why it was yumm 5)Corn spinach fry with Sesame : A perfect starter . Don’t miss this one 6)Corn and cheese flowers : Very crispy and cheesy bites 7)Makai palak Tikka : Kebab type spinach starter 8)Vallarai Keera Sadham : Went well with Keera usili 9)Veg Pulao , Noodles and Chicken Biriyani all of them very extremely good 10)Desserts : Citrus cake , caramel custard , kaju bites , pudding , Gulab Jamun and lots more Apart from these there’s a huge Buffet starting from meen Varuval to curd rice So come and indulge yourself in power packed flavours of spinach .

Visiting this hotel after a decade and nothing has changed right from the ambience to their wonderful hospitality. It was quite a surprise for me that they are still sustaining their way to success after all these years and thank god for that. Was here a couple of days back to experience their palak festival happening at The society and again it was such a great surprise that someone could make taste palak so delicious. Not one dish tasted bad or average , every dish right from the spinach spanakopita to the palak based katli sweet was spot on. It was seriously a suprise for me that something that tastes absolutely yuck can taste soo good when cooked with chicken and other kebabs. The regular palak based dishes like the palak paneer and palak kebabs even tasted good. The vada which was also a palak based was soo crispy and soft and tasted nothing like bitter palak. Heading to desserts the gulkand gulab jamun and the palak katli was my personal favourite , they even had a pudding made out of prune I guess was pretty good. If you're someone who has visited ambassador palava In your childhood and forgot about it's existence then you must visit them or if you're someone who has no idea about them then you have to visit them just for their palak food festival. Food : 8/10 Service : 9/10 Ambience : 8/10 Overall experience : 8/10

I wondered how such an old restaurant is still maintaining it's authenticity in it's taste, service and the ambience. It was a WOW factor for me. I was here for the Spinach festival that recently happened and which ends by 22nd of this month. This is was the second WOW factor that how spinach could turn out to be an amazing dish from starter to dessert. No dish was just made to add spinach to it. Every dish right from their starters were given good flavour and consistency of the spinach and they also explained why certain type of spinach is used in every dish. Right from the Samosa, to Vada I loved their crispness. The Malai Palak Tikka, Keerai kootu, and a lot of other Spinach dishes were made with utmost perfection. Coming to my most favorite part, the desserts, i loved the pudding, the cake and the kaju katli to the maximum. Overall, it was a mouth and heart filling experience which I loved and would definitely recommend the vegetarians especially to try them.

Having been a regular customer for over 20 years says it all. The best Tandoori in town no doubt. And friendly staff. Yes the service can be faster, but its all about sitting there and enjoying the 80's look of the restaurant with a chiller beer! Recommendation: Chicken / Paneer Tikka, Tandoori Chicken or even the platter. Butter Chicken and Mutton Roganjosh. Their continental food is also fantastic. And obviously all these variations in veg are superb. It was my father's fav restaurant and now continues to be ours.. A Must Visit!

One beautiful experience . The place has a warm setting and the people take utter patience in explaining you everything about their food , its preparation and the varieties . The menu us chic , but we visited during the spinach week and I'm still impressed on how delicious spinach could get . The place is beautiful with ritzy interiors and soothing lighting and the food was delicious . We loved the spanakopita , spinach and cheese fritters , chicken biryani , and all their desserts ❤

It's one of a kind of experience , a really lovely place for dining , has a really helpful staff. The food is really worth the try , as I am a sucker for briyani , I really enjoyed it , with other dishes such as the Jade Chicken. I would recommend the place for the food and love to visit once more .

The restaurant is value for money. It has decent food, good ambience and good service. The quality of the food items are good. The variety to choose is quite acceptable.

Stayed in Room No 217 from Oct 19 to Oct 22, 2021. Fantastic experience. In fact, surprised pleasantly. 1) The room was sufficiently large and well done. The room also included a balcony, overlooking the swimming pool. Surreal experience. 2) Ac, Check. WiFi connectivity, check. Free water bottles, check. Mobile Charger points, check. Lighting, check. Very well taken care of. 3) An old property but in no way compromising on the quality. No leakages in the bathroom, no cracks on the walls, no creaking furniture. In fact, the heritage artefacts within the property add more to the elan. Don't miss out on the life-size chariot kept at the reception area. 4) Sooper real estate. Whether of the rooms or the aqua area or even of the entire property in general. A far cry from the matchbox-sized rooms in the so-called professionally run five stars. 5) The staff is excellent too. A special mention of two people - Prabhat at the reception (very efficient, omnipresent, troubleshooter) and Naren in the restaurant (extremely humble, smiling, a winner, someone who took the trouble of bringing the custom made dessert in my room as I chose to give it a skip in the restaurant.). Further reaffirming my belief that good staff is the pillar for a hotel property. 6) The restaurant is a must-visit. Excellent food, reasonably priced, and customisation option yes. I had taken a meal inclusive package, and never for a moment regretted it. 7) The breakfast buffet was decent. Gajar Halwa / Lauki Halwa / Moong Dal Halwa on each of the days. Fresh coconut grated chutney. Authentic and thick sambar. Well made dosas, parathas, or Uttapas. On the last day, there was supposedly a VIP visit, so the buffet had been spruced up even more. Cold coffee and Malai Lassi. Pastries and croissants. Almonds and dates and kishmishes. ----------------- A couple of downers too take away one of the stars. 1) No complimentary early check-in. Despite a room being available. I understand the hotel policy, but I do not think that it is correct. 2) The beds are clumsy. Too soft and lumpy mattresses and pillows. You almost sink in the moment you lie down. 3) The bathroom is partitioned from the aqua area by a nylon curtain. Causing water spillage outside. 4) Extremely limited items on the menu card in the restaurant. 5) Couldn't meet up with the GM of the property despite putting up a specific request. I would have congratulated him for a fine job done. Definitely deserving an encore.

I happen to go to this place for a drink with an acquaintance of mine after reading the reviews. Firstly the ambience is really poor and cramped, the first mood killer. The in-house starters are just chips, spicy peanuts and cucumber which is better not to be served. We have ordered tandoori chicken nuggets which is nothing but a distorted version of fried boiled chicken hence we ordered tangri kabab requesting them to make it spicer but what we got is boiled chicken drowned in chilli. Disheartened, we proceed to dinner with a hope that we’ll offered some edible food. We have ordered curd rice and szehwan chicken fried rice,it was served after 20 mins with no salt in fried rice. The waiter was kind enough to change the fried rice upon complaining only to replace with a very salty szehwan fried rice that I ended up cancelling. I have spent around Rs.6300/- for two people incl alcohol. This is one of the oldest hotels in Chennai and the quality is very poor. You can try this place at your own risk.
