We went to this restaurant named 'tongue' a few weeks ago. It was my friend who chose this place. Although we had several people mention it's name before, we never had a chance to visit this restaurant. So it's a like a few kilometers from VIT next to a lake. To be honest it was actually better than i thought it would be. The inner ambience was really stunning. They had this mirrored walls on all four sides. Its indeed a smart work because when large mirrors are used they create a illusion of space making the dining area look visually larger and brighter. It had a classy feel. As per feng shiu a pseudoscience, mirrors in dining area is a good practise as it attracts positive energy. The menu was extensively multifarious, from which we selected a few. One was mirchi kebab. This platter of smoky delicious juicy kebabs can easily get you hooked- not to mention the char grilled aroma. Longitudinal slits are made on the green chillies on the sides making sure the halves are not separated and in the place of skewers, tooth picks were inserted on to which kebab pieces are placed.It was something that i h one who came up with this dish must be a solid genius. We also had gongura chicken tikka briyani which was hot, flavourful with spicy marinated chicken Punjabi chicken masala and lemon chicken also had a great taste. The staffs were very friendly. To sum it up, it's a place i will definitely recommend now that ive tried it for myself.

This is the best place for biryani in chennai. You have all varieties of biryanis. Gongura chicken biryani, chicken tikka and chicken tandoori biryanis are the best here. If u want to have typical Andhra biryani experience this is the best place.

Tongue gives a Chinese touch to your tongue with its spicy masala. #Briyani here is more of Andhra style. Get a Hyderabadi taste here at Chennai!😃

One of the best biryani near VIT!!! Spicy and good quantity comes with two piece of chicken..quality also good!

One of the very places near VIT where you get decent seating capacity. Also the food over here is good. I have been going here a lot of times but now only got the chance to write a review because now only they have come to zomato. The place is famous for biriyani. Dum biriyani, tandoori biriyani etc. Well, this place is fine in terms of taste and ambience but the service is very poor. Bot happy with it at all. The price over here is also very high compared to other places near VIT the quantity is also average. Either they increase the quantity or reduce the price. If you are looking for a team meeting or something this place is ideal.
