We visited on a Sunday morning, not full of crowded but a little. We had a Mysore masala dosa ( a little spicy which is great), Poori and Kara bath( spicy rava upma). All were good taste. If you simply like the good healthy food nothing else then this is the place in this area. And value for money too.

Been here a few times for their dosa. Really tasty, and probably the best benne dosa in the city right now.

After seeing umpteen reels of this restaurant in insta wanted to try. Started from pallavaram and went on metro to annanagar tower.. Take the exit to 5th avenue. The restaurant is just in backside of the metro which is walkable bang opp saravana Bhavan. It was not crowded on Sunday at 5PM Has a very small menu. But every thing is served hot. There is no seating in front. If you wanna sit you need to get to top of restaurant. There is no service available. It's self service only. We ordered a Benne Masala dosa, Thatte idly, Mysore Masala dosai and Rava idly. All the dishes are served with white chutney, orange peanut chutney and sambar. Sambar are 2 types. Sweet karnataka type and Regular Tamilnadu sambar. All the sides thankfully don't have garlic in them. Coconut chutney and Peanut chutney are really good especially the latter. I did not like both the Sambars. Sambars in eating circle is way better. This is a bit watery and not very tasty too. Benne Masala dosa is thick and crispy served super hot. The Aloo Masala is awesome and served with butter. Together with chutney it was heavenly. Mysore Masala dosa is same Above dosa with added extra spicy Masala. But this is not 9vertly spicy. The Masala is s Orangish and this too tasted well with chutney. Both the dosa are just 6inch pizza size when fully open. A bit small. In Eating circle dosas are bit bigger. So one dosa is not enough. Thatte idly is again 5 to 6 inches. Very hot and soft and is fully covered with podi and ghee. And thus tasted very well again. Rava idly is bigger. Very soft and hot. And flavoured with coriander. This was also very good to eat. On a whole, it costed us 304 rs which is very nominal. Our meal would have been complete with a filter coffee but sadly they don't serve one. Will visit again

I happened to visit the place after much hype on social media. This is basically a small outlet which do not have seating. It is self service. They speak Kannada, so I guess they are Bangalore based. The workplace is way cleaner than the local Tamil hotels. They also take care of the cutlery which is eco friendly. The food is basically south indian. They have both, the authentic spicy Sambar & the Sweet Sambar (like Eating Circles). Idly was already prepared, a turn off & Vada was not good. The food's quality is very nice but it can be tastier. I liked the politeness and kindness of them. They also maintained a queue system. So the crowd is taken care of. I can recommend you to try this. But then, the taste is Subjective. The Ghee Dosa was my favourite.

visited this overhyped food joint during noon time. one should never take fou wheeler there as finding a spot to park itself might take an hour. we ordered Bisibelebath, curd rice, dosa and pulav. bisibele bath was pathetic especially if one has tasted it before in Karnataka. this was just mixing tifin sambar and rice. pulav was average as there was no proper accompaniment. dosa was very oily but tasty. curd rice was just average. service was poor and acted as if they were serving in annadhanam counter. overall it was poor experience and highly priced considering there was no seating.

Absolutely terrible experience at Upa Vihar, Chennai. I'm writing this review because I am so disappointed with the decline in both quality and service. For a dish that costs ₹70, the quantity was a complete joke—it was barely a few spoonfuls. This is a massive downgrade from what they used to serve. It's clear they are cutting costs at the customer's expense. To make matters worse, the staff was incredibly disrespectful and rude when I brought up my concerns. A customer should be treated with basic decency, On top of all this, we had to wait for an unreasonably long time, which just added to the frustration. The food itself is not worth the price, the stingy portion sizes, or the disrespectful service. I would strongly advise against visiting this place if you value your time and money. It's a complete rip-off and a truly negative dining experience.
