This place is good and cozy. We love their hot chocolate and the cookie with it. The fried chicken was also great. We took some desserts to go. All of them were delicious. Taste - 4/5 Ambience - 4/5 Cost - Moderate Service - 3/5

They've got some nice variety with reasonable prices. However the service could be better, and also they don't have the same items at every branch, seems like?

A cute place located in the posh lanes of adyar. Can be easily mistaken to be a tiny place by its looks on the outside. But boosts a great ambience. Perfect for some peaceful working sessions as well before the peak hours. Easy on the pocket and great service as well. I found a perfect cozy spot by the window which gave me cute Christmas feels and helped me captured some post worthy great shots. In terms of food, we tried the following: Fish Fingers: Soft and melt in the mouth. Came with a watery dip that tasted okay with the fish and added good amount of flavours. Spinach and Corn Toastie: A simple open sandwich with my favourite spinach and corn topping. The bread with its subtle crispness added a great boost of crunch to the dish. Hot Chocolate: I have definitely had better and this was reminiscent of Bournvita for me. Cafe Mocha: A very subtle difference from the hot chocolate On the whole, a fairly decent place to visit with your friends. I would go back for the ambiences

Food ordered is served on time, the staff however needs to be knowledgeable about what’s on the menu. They seem unaware and you may end up mentioning your order to 2-4 people in order to get it right. Overall a good quiet place for some book reads.

The food is decent but now they have increased their prices, just made it expensive. The service is terrible. The staffs won't take care of you. Very unprofessional. I still go only for the food. Careless service, will make u wait for hours

Please do. Not try the mango sticky rice. They simply gave me unriped mangoes.

If you’re ever in the mood to test your patience and question your life choices, this is the perfect restaurant for you. The service here redefines the word “slow.” I’m convinced they must have planted the vegetables before taking our order, because that’s the only logical explanation for how long the food took. Getting the staff’s attention was another adventure — it felt like we were invisible, or maybe they were just practicing the art of ignoring customers. And when the food finally arrived (after what felt like the next ice age), it was served as though someone just casually tossed it onto the plate on their way to do something more important. Cold dishes, messy presentation, zero coordination — you name it, they perfected it. The whole experience screamed, “We don’t care,” and trust me, that message came through loud and clear. If this is their idea of hospitality, I’d hate to see what indifference looks like. Save yourself the headache. Unless, of course, you enjoy waiting endlessly for mediocre food served with a side of neglect. In that case, this place is your dream destination.

worst service I have seen in this writer's cafe. I have been to Tharamani writer's cafe and dlf writer's cafe, their service was excellent. but Adyar worst of worst and don't waste your time in Adyar writer's cafe. instead visit Tharamani or porur.

Charging Rs255 for 2 lemons in water as lemonade is good for business but is it ethical. if there was any value addition, I would totally agree. I understand the need to add for rent, labour, power and other expenses but honestly isn't 255 unfair
