You know that feel when you enter a cafe and don't feel like taking your phone out because you just enjoy the ambience, walk around the book store, get confused on what fine pastries to order from the counter, customise your pizza, pasta and before you could think of anything else, food is right there in front of you! That is Writer's Cafe - been to the Egmore branch n number of times | Their service is quick and top notch just like their food! Car parking is bit of a problem during weekends but that doesn't concern at all once you visit this place, there's no disliking it ❤️

Writer’s Fried Chicken Box: Hot, Crispy, Spicy and Juicy - and it was exactly that! Our search for the best fried chicken in Chennai has finally come to an end! The chicken was fresh, tender and fried to perfection. The seasoning was on point; light and flavourful. And the quantity of the box was definitely value for money. Overall, the Writer’s at VR is an excellent, affordable option if you don’t care much about ambience.

Writers cafe is like our usual place to eat whenever we visit the mall. Their food is the best and their coffee is amazing. We visit them pretty much every week 😬. The manager there Mr. Roshan made sure we had a good experience. Their pastas are not our favourite though but everything else on the menu is a must try. And the fig and almond tart (heaven on your tastebuds). Great place and deserves 5star.

One of the best cafe visited in recent times and it became my favorite too. This one has best in all from food, service and price points everything was top notch. Wide varieties of menu on a budget is the best thing here and a kind service took it to the next level. Would recommend for everyone.

It's my nth time in Writer's cafe , they have never disappointed us. We tried the Caramel croffin this time and we loved it... The cinnamon roll, barbeque wings, potato wedges and Flammenkuchen were amazing. Must try - Croffin and Crossiant

Great Value for Money. Meh Customer Service. Ask for Salt :P Went over with a couple of vaccinated friends after the lockdown was relaxed. Was pretty disappointed to find that they didn't have coffee, but they said it was because they'd just reopened that day, so I'd give them the benefit of the doubt here. Ordered fries and onion rings for apps. Both were really fresh and crisp, and definitely way better than the soggy mess McDonald's served last time I went. Good portion sizes too. French fries had a little less salt, though. We ordered both Bakes: Veg Moussaka and the Chicken Cheese Bake. Both were really good. The Chicken Bake was really meaty. Serving size was for one person, which was fair given the price. The Penne Alfredo (white sauce basically) was, however, really really bland. A little garlic or even pepper could've made it much better. Ordered the Death By Chocolate and Choco Lava cake for dessert. They were...fine? At 80/90 rupees they were great value for money, but if you really want to treat yourself, look elsewhere in the mall. My only major qualm is that customer service was somewhat poor. Not arrogant, but rather unresponsive. Probably good if you want to be left alone, though. Also, the salt was on the lower end in virtually everything. Not unbearably so, but definitely noticeable. The atmosphere was good, but to be avoided on weekends. The seating areas effectively spills out into the walkway, so it can get very noisy if the mall is busy. All in all, the three of us had a three course meal for roughly 400 rupees each, which is pretty astonishing. The place is somewhere in between a cheap restaurant and a fancy hangout space for 20 somethings.

Guys , if u see the menu list , I have tried GRILLED CHICKEN WITH BUTTER RICE on QUICK BOWL section along with CAPPUCCINO coffee. Everything was fine, but the look and feel of the bowl was quite ORDINARY. add-ons like veggies on the rice must have been MUCH better. last but not the least SERVICE was exceptional and waiting time is around 30 minutes.
