The ambiance and food is quite good at this place. Service is quite fast and waters are very helpful. it's nice to sit around and work or read something.

When it's comfort, consistency and coziness you seek, few outlets pop up in your mind. Writer's Cafe at Gopalapuram Chennai is one such. And I say this after umpteen visits to their various outlets in the city. The ambience is laid back, the service sweet and prompt. Rarely do you get to see staff actually serve with a smile. The fare is indulgent. An 'all day' breakfast, soup and salads, eggs made your way, make your own pasta and flammkuchen (that's German for pizza), sandwiches & sliders and a slurpy choice of frappe and shakes. But their actual USP is the pricing being totally pocket friendly. And, go ahead and ask for that dash of fresh cream when you order their 'oh so healthy' blueberry crumble. They would gladly oblige. Every single time!!

I have always loved this place and when a friend asked for italian nesrby, I could think of only this place. So came here after really long last week. A very pocket friendly place for good food. Ordered the soup of the day, it was tomato, and it was yummy. it's been a while since I ordered tomato soup anywhere as I have always had bad experiences, it would be too tangy or they would use tinned tomatoes. but here after so long it tasted heavenly. Then ordered a flammkuchen, one of their must try, a paneer panini, watermelon and feta salad bowl and a white sauce pasta. Absolutely loved them all, taste wise and a budget friendly place too.

My first visit after hearing a lot about this place. Had Mac n cheese , wedges and a cheese cake. Little disappointed with the cheese cake but can’t complain on others. Car parking might be a problem here also the two wheeler parking too is limited. Will visit again

One good place to spend time with your loved ones. Good and very peaceful ambience. Food quantity has to be increased to the price we pay. Prices were really on higher side. Taste wise everything was fine.

For the taste & portion, the charges were too much. I have had Italian in Little Italy which is far better and justifies the price.

Writer's cafe used to be a place I frequented few years back. I thought I'll visit today and to say I was highly disappointed is an understatement. Baked Mac & Cheese - Bland and it wasn't as cheesy as I expected Sticky Lemon Chicken - It should simply be renamed as Spicy Chicken. No hint of lemony flavour whatsoever. Shaghetti Neapoli - Barely Palatable Beverages Mixed Berry Cooler and Hazelnut Mocha were alone good. Definitely not worth the 1k I spent here☹️

A very bad experience. Had been sitting there for one full hour and only then my order was served, that too only one of the two items. The coffee that was served was not even hot - had to ask to reheat it. Overall very bad service

Had a horrible experience with staff, they were curt and ignorant. Food quality has become abysmal. Not the cafe I used to love to frequent anymore.
