The recently renovated Zaitoon at Royapettah Chennai was due a visit after eons and found us on a late night sojourn. The ambience is sleekly done with new sets of furniture and optimal space usage.  Hence, privacy while dining takes a hit. But the menu fare compensates all that, what with a tweek to include more desserts while retaining most of their staples.  Being late in the night, we missed the biriyani and kunafa. The ghee rice was piping hot and fragrant and the Arabian lollipop, as crispy as ever. The pricing and the staff need special mention.  Right from the front desk to the floor attendees, they were all courteous and prompt. Kudos to that!

We Were Here For Dinner. Ambience Is Okay. We Tried Some BBQ Chicken, Kadai Chicken, G Naan, BLUE LIME MOJITO N Fruity Salad With Ice cream. Each N Every Dish Was Super Delicious And Perfectly Made👍. Only One Thing Is Bad Very Bad Service 👎. I Asked Menu For Four Time To Order Something Finally Someone Who Clear Plates Nearby A Table of Ours So We Tell Him For Menu N Immediately He Give The Menu.. NO SIDE PLATE. THEY DON'T GIVE US CUTLERY 🍴 ALSO. OVERALL EXPERIENCE GOOD BUT SERVICE IS VERY BAD.. AMBIENCE 🌟 🌟 🌟 FOOD 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 SERVICE 🌟

We were a group 14 people, went to dinner as a huge family. First of all, this branch is not very spacious, they did seat us all together and the only way into our seats was to disturb everyone seated as there only one side access to go through. Not at all comfortable, even with the serving and taking the empty plates and dishes, we had to take it and give it to the servers, that's not why we go out to dinner and pay a freaking 12,700 rupees! Let's talk about the food now, we ordered a lot of appetizers and a biriyani, which the waiter did not explain or warn about the quantity of the dish, especially biriyani (it was big enough for atleast 6 people to eat. The crispy lamb honey was really good, cannot complain about that, but other few had either too much salt or too less salt, not nice to eat. I had ordered a Butter naan and chicken butter masala, both of which were bad, the Butter naan had no salt and the butter masala did not taste like a Butter masala, it was something else and it was not good either. Overall, very disappointed with the food and dining for the money that we paid, very disappointed 😞!!

The food here is undoubtedly one of the best in town – rich in taste and quality. However, the service at this particular branch has been consistently disappointing. On multiple occasions, our orders were either delayed or completely forgotten. What's worse is the rude attitude of the staff. When we politely raised concerns, the response was shockingly dismissive – one staff member even told us to "take their picture and complain" instead of addressing the issue. Such behavior is unacceptable in any hospitality service. Zaitoon has built a name for itself through its food, but poor customer service can damage even the best reputation. I genuinely hope the management takes serious note of this and train their staff to uphold basic courtesy and professionalism. Many loyal customers are being driven away not by the food but by the services.

The food was great as always, and I usually have a wonderful experience here — the staff are generally very kind and professional. However, during my recent visit, one female staff member was quite rude and unhelpful. When I called her over, she didn’t respond politely or apologize when things went wrong. I had ordered Kunafa, but it was served cold and not as I requested. She also forgot to bring dessert spoons and didn’t seem to care when I mentioned it. Every other staff member I’ve met here has been respectful and well-mannered, so this experience was really disappointing. I hope the management looks into this and ensures the same level of good service from all staff

We love Zaitoon for its Pepper Barbecue Chicken. we went to the restaurant to eat our favourite dish and also ordered a portion of egg biryani. The staff forgot about the order and when asked about the same they said oh it is ready. they brought some rice with egg on top of it. we got it parceled as we were running late. on going home, we found it to be mutton biryani instead. we dont eat mutton. this is highly unprofessional and seems like we got cheated.

Ordered for Prawn Biriyani. But what I received was something similar to a fried rice (prepared in 5 minutes) topped with 5 to 6 piece of small prawns. Despite escalating up to the manager he kept defending that it's a Arab style Biriyani and that's how its prepared. Realized that it's no point in arguing further and stepped away paying the bill. I would never ever step again into Zaitoon and urge fellow food lovers to stay away from them.

We ordered prawn fried rice n veg fried rice but it was not cooked properly as rice and vegetables both were raw they should cook properly and give … how can v eat so hard vegetables

The order got delayed by 35 mins each time . I would never step into this restaurant again . Highly disappointed 😞
