You get really good authentic sikkimese and nepali food. Their service is really good - our hostess, Yogita was such sweetheart! Would definitely visit again!

Nimtho is a traditional Sikkimese restaurant that serves authentic Nepali thali, thakali thali and ond other dishes. Its a beautiful restaurant with a rustic old Indian vibe. We had pork choila which was crispy and tasty, then chicken shaphalay which was just too good. The chicken momo was amazing too. Overall loved the food and vibe. Will surely visit for the Thalia next time.

We ordered a Nepali thakkali thali and veg jhol momos. The super hyped thakkali thali was average at best. Not worth the hype at all. Jhol momos were decent. But the attitude of the folks at nimtho is a 0/10. They feel as if they own Gangtok - super rude and arrogant. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

⭐ Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Management As tourists, we visited this restaurant with high expectations, but the experience turned out to be extremely frustrating and disappointing. We were made to wait 40 minutes initially. The staff took our phone number and assured us that we would receive a call as soon as a table became available. After waiting that long, we were suddenly told that another family would be served before us, which was never communicated earlier. We were then asked to wait an additional 30 minutes. During this time, several families finished their meals and left, yet the management repeatedly insisted that no table was free. We were continuously asked to wait “just another 10 minutes,” which kept getting extended without any clear explanation or honesty. After wasting over an hour, we eventually had to leave without even being served food. The lack of transparency, poor queue management, and complete disregard for customers’ time made this an extremely unpleasant experience—especially for tourists with limited time. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you value your time and basic courtesy, it’s better to look elsewhere.

This place survives purely on hype, not quality or service. The food was extremely average and nowhere close to what the online reviews claim. The worst part was the staff—rude, unwelcoming, and completely uninterested in customer satisfaction. No courtesy, no basic manners, and no accountability. It honestly felt like they were doing us a favor by serving food. Overpriced, overhyped, and deeply disappointing. Definitely not worth the time or money. I had best excellent local cuisine food in lachung, Mangan

Terrible service. Even dining plates were not provided till asked for. Took over an hour to serve a table of six. No two plates of the same food looked or tasted the same. Food got progressively worse. The restaurant also does not carry bottled water and they don't refill water glasses. Overall a disappointing experience.

Portion size very small for the price taken for each item. All kinds of meat we ate was tough and hard. I would suggest to have the tongba- local alcohol, that was good.
