I’ve been to Babka four times over the last three years, and it has never disappointed. Every visit has been consistently good, and this one was no different. This time, though, my wife was visiting for the first time. Before we went in, she decided to read the Zomato reviews. We ended up spending a good amount of time laughing! Some of the negative reviews didn’t really reflect the experience I’ve had here over the years, but what really stole the show were Babka’s replies. They’re witty, cheeky, and genuinely hilarious. If you’ve got a few minutes to kill, go through the Zomato reviews—you’ll probably have as much fun reading the responses as we did. As for the café itself, the coffee is exactly why I keep coming back. Great coffee, a lovely vibe, and consistently a place I enjoy spending time at. If you’re in Assagao and looking for a good cup of coffee, just walk into Babka. I have a feeling you’ll enjoy it as much as I always have.

The food was delicious.Focaccia was soft ,fresh and tiramisu latte was exceptional. Vietnamese was tooo watery and taste also below par. Space is too cramped up ,with bulbs hanging just above your head with high possibility of getting hit. tables are very closed to each other , you can literally hear their conversations.

Overhyped place by Instagram influencer. We ordered chocolate cheesecake and Vietnamese coffee. Cake was good but not something I would revisit for, as this kind of taste you get in any good bakery. Coffee was as if having coffee flavour water.

The food was extremely underwhelming and the desserts are just plain sugar. Served cold brew in the name of iced americano. Cramped up space, not worth the hype or price.

PSA: Save your ₹640, unless you enjoy artificial syrup and being treated like an idiot. I really wish I had read the reviews before stepping foot in this place. I paid ₹640 for a "Strawberry Matcha" that was basically an artificial, poorly mixed disaster of cheap strawberry jam. But the real comedy show is their basic cafe operations. They served this cold beverage in a hot paper coffee cup. When I politely asked the barista how I was supposed to use a straw with a hot sip-lid, he smiled condescendingly and told me, "Ma'am, you have to open the lid and put the straw." Imagine paying ₹640 to have a barista act smug while forcing you to dismantle a hot coffee cup just to drink an iced beverage. If the staff spent half the time learning basic hospitality that they spend giving smartass answers to cover their mistakes, this place might actually survive. A note to the owner: I've seen how you handle criticism here by insulting customers, making terrible jokes, and actually threatening to "blacklist" people who complain. Save the childish clapbacks. Consider me permanently self-blacklisted, because absolutely no one wants to return to this level of delusion. And if your go-to defense is that I have too much free time to write this review—yes, I always have time to call out your sh*t after paying for it. Learn to take feedback like an adult instead of an internet troll, or at least learn to make a decent drink.

If I can rate 0, it will be 0, but can rate 1* only The food might be good, but I’ll never know because I wasn’t even allowed to step inside. The guy standing at the entrance acted more like a bouncer than a waiter. No “Hello”, no “Welcome”, no basic hospitality. He simply blocked the entrance and immediately asked, “Dine in or takeaway? We have a queue for both. Takeaway is at least 15 minutes.” 15 minutes for what? It’s off-season, there is not even 4 people inside or outside. The problem is that I hadn’t even had a chance to look at the display or menu yet. How am I supposed to decide whether I want to dine in, order takeaway, or buy anything at all if I’m not even allowed to enter and see what’s available? It felt less like entering a bakery or restaurant and more like trying to get past nightclub security. The funniest part is that I could have placed the exact same order on Zomato without the attitude, without being interrogated at the door, and even saved ₹180 with a discount. A great reminder that good food alone isn’t enough when your first impression is someone treating customers like they’re trying to sneak into a VIP club.

Very extraordinary hyped place. Very small place and complete waste of time and Money… if u want to experience bad service and bad food quality experience after paying then must visit. Staff very disrespectful specially Abhilash. Had several complaints about it to the manger as well as supervisor but no appropriate action taken. Very lenient approach towards customers. SUPER BAD APPROACH EVEN TOWARDS WOMEN. Not even bother to accept their mistakes and apologise. Dont come ever. Do recommend to your Enemies instead of Friends & Family

Babka, I was genuinely taken aback by the attitude of your staff today. Stopping people from entering even for a takeaway order? Gatekeeping customers is hardly the way to manage a crowd. It takes years to build a reputation, but it can be damaged in a single day. Never lose sight of that. Good food is appreciated. Bad attitude is remembered. There are far better ways to handle crowd control than making customers feel unwelcome. After this experience, I won’t be returning to Babka. I was fan, until today.
