Condé Nast Traveller's choice: Goa’s long-running Burmese gem, Bomras blends Myanmar roots with local produce into light, layered plates that keep diners coming back.
Why people go
Tables tucked under trees, Bomras channels a leafy plantation garden with signatures like tea leaf salad and tender coconut panna cotta.
Legacy and reputation
Chef Bawmra Jap grew up in Myanmar’s Kachin hills; his food carries those memories, tempered with years of experience in kitchens across Asia and Goa.

Everything here was definition of flavour bomb. Best Prawn curry in the country. Special mentions - Banana Leaf Wrapped fish, Bomras Chilli Chicken & Pan Seared Kashmiri Gucchi Musrooms. All 10/10

Lovely food, if you need a break from the maddening noise of Artjuna this could be the next place for you. Staff is warm. The menu is also unique.

Ambience 3.7 Bomras Spicy Prawns Curry 3.4 (was a typical thai curry, nothing special) w/ Steamed Rice Smoked Pork Fried Rice 3.9 (was quite good) (the chilli sauce was amazing) Tender Coconut Pannacotta w/ Raw Mango Sauce which was too tangy for my liking I felt Bomras is a victim of its own hype. Not one thing was worth the hype. It is sadly not the 5th best restaurant in the country, not even close.

So I tried a couple of cocktails, a salad and banana leaf fish. The cocktails and the banana leaf wrapped fish were stand out, though the salad was not all that great. The service was excellent and the bartender at the bar was able to serve me very good cocktails. The ambience too was great. Overall a great experience.

I’ve been to a lot of Conde Nast rated places and Bomras would be bottom of the barrel. The food was extremely disappointing. Everything we ordered felt really oily. They should do better.
