We dropped by for breakfast today morning. The chicken rice bowl was amazing (albeit a tiny bit too sweet for me). The pooes were even better. Coffees were okay tbh, but everything else on our plates from the fries to the coleslaw was so so much better than expected. Returning for lunch lmao

Live Music on a weekday?!! Yes you heard us right! A lovely restaurant in a Portuguese era home, with Veranda seating and a dance floor and has live music nights on weekdays, Monday being their live Jazz music night! We visited on a Thursday night, although it wasn’t too much crowded, this did not affect the energy of the live band playing amazing retro music from 70s and 80s! Although there wasn’t much options in vegetarian, the butter garlic Poi was yummy. Squids batter fry and Butter Garlic Prawns was fresh and delicious. No much option in cocktails though. The ambience is great and food is delicious and the live music is cherry on the cake! Do visit on a Monday night as they are famous for the live Jazz nights.

Went there on a late Wednesday night. I was the only customer at that time. Got to know that they get busy on Mondays. Anyways coming to food, they had very few selections, mostly Goan and some continental. I was hoping for some Spanish foods. Overall quality was decent. I loved the Goan calamari fries, must try. For future customers - Figure out what kind of environment you want. For high energy dancing vibe - Mondays. For chilled out quiet romantic vibe - Other days. Check with the restaurant before visiting.

So Cantare is a little away from the hustle bustle of Goa, it has a good vibe, dim lights etc. I went for dinner with family, we were 8 of us. No doubt food was excellent but their service was horrible. We had wait for an hour or more for our dinner to arrive. Appetisers also took about 30-40 mins to come and this was the most annoying part. When complained to the manager or the guy servicing us, he apologised but also said this is a problem they have. So if you know why not correct it? No doubt food was by far the best Thai I have had in Goa,. But if you have the patience to wait and spend 4-5 hours. Go for it. I will probably not the next time. Disappointed with all the wait.

Having lived in Goa for over a year, Cantare was on my list of places to visit. We visited on a Monday night, expecting a good dinner and some live music. While the ambience, service and music was great, the food wasn’t an aspect I’d remember. After 40 minutes of not having received the one dish we’d ordered we were told the kitchen was busy. This couldn’t have been true because the tables who filled up around us after we arrived received their food before us. Mistakes happen, but we would have appreciated honesty instead of excuses. Not too happy with the overall experience, and I wish I was! Sangria was good - 4/5 Beef roast - 3.5/5

Positives- the ambience and a great live band. Negatives - The owner claimed he's been in the business for 30 years & owned restaurants abroad! With due respect to his 10-15 years of seniority on account of age, I'm sorry to say that I have never met a more arrogant owner/host at any restaurant across the world! All that I can say is that he momentarily forgot that in India it's Atithi Devo Bhava. Most importantly, he was too busy justifying that he needs to run a business without even comprehending that we totally support that stance! To add to that the food options here are very limited and the young pada behind the bar too had limited experience in making or recommending cocktails.

Absolutely did not like the place. The owner or someone from the team comes and tells us that the service will be slow. We are ok with the that given the reputation of place - but then the staff forgets our order, had to order thrice and still 45 mins waiting and then when we check at counter there were only 2 out of 3 items placed. Moreover one of the items ordered was veg and they served non-veg, and only after first bite we noticed and upon informing they took forever to bring the veg dish Extremely disappointing place - the music was good altho it does not cover for other shortcomings

This place is over hyped.. the service is slow..Monday jazz nights are a total ripoff…when you are booking your table in the evening at 6 you should give them your food order too.. cus i waited for at-least 45 for a side(poee with garlic butter) the starter and the main course is another ball game all together…and they are short of glassware as the server had told us to have our shots fast as they needed the shot glasses….the manager is a bit arrogant and a bit of firm attitude.Wouldn’t come back here again.

what do you do when you reach there and you are told that you are not allowed because you are wearing a sleeveless shirt. one of my friends was wearing a sleeveless shirt and we were in a limbo as in what to do. thankfully one of the girls offered to change the tshirt and that helped. you don't think of this when yoh are in Goa.
