Feels like a friend’s living room. Turntable spinning, dogs wandering, jazz drifting. The Solkadi feni spritz should be your first drink, chilli-cardamom gin next.
Architect, audio engineer, and musician Buland Shukla built FTR as a personal space where cocktails, food, and vinyl collide.

Phenomenal experience - loved the retro vibe with vinyl. The complex, deeply smoky cocktail recommendations were also superb - would not have imagined charred pineapple entering a spirit like that! The food is a long wait, but certainly worth it. We were the only people there when we ordered, and it took about 30 minutes (maybe more), but you can tell everything is painstakingly made fresh, slow and right. Go when you’re not in a hurry for the food and can nurse a drink over some great music and enjoy the moment for a while. The rajma and mushroom burger was fantastic, and the slow cooked baby potatos and chop was insanely good. I didn’t know the chemistry and texture of a potato could change like that. Everyone in the staff was super welcoming and helpful with suggestions and very knowledgeable and passionate about what they serve. Definitely hope to come again, hopefully when it’s in-season.

Cocktails are great, and food is amazing. Smaller portions but very creative and tasty menu

I had lunch at For the Record, a charming, dimly lit restaurant known for its great jazz music, eclectic collection of old records, and reputation as one of India’s top 50 restaurants. The place has a cozy, intimate vibe, perfect for a leisurely meal. I went fully crustacean for lunch. The prawn gambas kicked things off—pretty decent, though not spectacular. The stuffed crab that followed was a definite upgrade: flavorful, with a pleasant tang that really stood out. Unfortunately, the meal dipped with the fish steak served with fermented vegetable emulsion, fruit slices, and fresh herbs. The fish was tough and surprisingly bland, which made for a disappointing finale. To add to that, the overall portions across dishes were quite small. While the ambience and concept are lovely, the food—especially for a place of its reputation—felt inconsistent

Ambience is unique and interesting. Servers were sweet and helpful. But food is sub par. Did not have a drink but it seems drinks were a hit with others guests. Too much pressure on them to be hipster with their menu. Ambience 4/5. Food 2/5.

Horrible waiting time and worst part is they are absolutely unmoved by the complaints also. They are very calm and composed about their poor and slow service. They think they are doing some favour on us by making us wait longer for the food. Its fairly empty and there are hardly much orders but still 1.5-2hrs is a standard wait time for even a basic dish to come to your table. Had a terrible evening and ended up leaving without eating.

This is a pet friendly place👌 which is the only good thing about it. Food is overpriced and even big bytes come in small portions‼️. Service is very slow😡. Took an hour for food to show up on the table. Waiter did not give water until we asked for it. Plus, he forgot one of the orders 😓 I walked to another nearby restaurant to have my fill.

If you want to spend 3 hours of waiting for food, drinks and even the bill along with multiple reminder request for service n very polite nonchalant behaviour from the team, this is the perfect place for the experience. P.S. don’t rely on CN traveller reviews.

The service was extremely slow, we waited for almost 2 hours for food which they eventually forgot.
