The food is extremely good, loved the crab and prawns that we ordered. It had the perfect spice and local flavours as expected. Definitely a must visit 😁

Thali was not upto the mark. The quality of rice was poor..The items offered in the thali were few compared to what you usually expect for places like this. There were no clams , Crabs and dessert in the Thali.

The started fish - Chonak was really good. But everything else- Chicken, prawns, fish curry were not good. They were average. The drink - kokum mojito was really good.

i went to Kokni Kanteen yesterday after being recommended by friends and almost every food website curating restaurants in Goa. I realized after waiting 2 hours for a table that I was horribly wrong in following the trend and idolizing this place. Tl;dr - waiting experience bad, food bad/average, don't go. Wait time - I was given a single digit waiting number. Not bad, thought I'd get a table in 15-20 minutes. However, there was absolutely no space to stand indoors in the AC, and I was compelled to leave the premises and wait outside. After waiting in 40 C weather for 30 minutes, I went back inside to check the current waiting number; it had only moved by 1. I went back outside, came back in 20, and apparently they had already moved on to double digit waiting numbers. Debate on the wait time - When I conveyed to the wait staff what my waiting number was, they told me that it will take some time, despite the queue having moved by at least 10-12 tables. I asked to speak to the manager, who said they called for my number but no one appeared. I tried to reason with him that it doesn't make sense for my number to be skipped entirely after waiting for 2 hours, to which they shrugged their shoulders and asked me to wait even more. After creating a bigger fuss than was warranted, I was given a "shared" table, to be occupied by two other strangers. The table - The others I shared the table with were at waiting number 20, which felt like a light slap on the face. The food - I ordered the Goan chicken chilly, the chicken cafreal, the tonak, one portion of rice and the kokum urak cocktail. I wanted to order some poie but they were out of it, only had rice and chapati available, which is strange for a Goan restaurant. The tonak was bland, the chicken in the cafreal was stale. The chicken chilly was edible, and the drink was good. I'd also ordered the serradura but for some reason it was never brought to the table. It was an extremely forgettable food experience, that I would probably expect from a tier-3 lunch home in Maharashtra. Overall - Wrong choice to go there, never again will I visit an establishment that clearly is so full of itself.

Incredibly sexist service staff, decided to ignore me for a whole 20 mins and deny me a table and give it to people waiting at a much higher number in the queue. It’s really a matter of principles and fairness that’s non existent in establishments that blow up randomly like this due to tourist traps. As a woman, I’ll never want to come back to a place that takes me for granted. The way they behaved with me needs to be held to some accountability, it’s forcing me to write a bad review, which I really don’t like doing. An absolute waste of my time as a solo traveller. I would like to believe this is not how cultural immersion for travellers should be, it’s my fault for considering Instagram reels to be a good recommendation platform for travellers.

The restaurant is upto the level for the kind of hype created in the social media. I am goan and i know goan and konkani food but what these people serve is far away from the typical goan cuisine. disappoonted for food taste. Best part of this restaurant is its ambience and thats it. popolarity could have been another plus but seems to be inorganically hyped.

Pathetic service, no courtesy, noone wants to attend you. Moreover after waiting more than 1.5 hours, they tell you many items and drinks u came looking for, are out of stock. Absolutely rubbish. If you cant accomodate ur guests, either bloody shut down or upgrade ur facility!
