Aesthetic vibes of old Goan Portuguese kind of restaurant. Very good vibe. A small place, but those who know, they know about the place. It's very famous place, and it's go-to place. Small place, cozy place with good art and small place, but it's very nice. Very nice. Huh?

The started fish - Chonak was really good. But everything else- Chicken, prawns, fish curry were not good. They were average. The drink - kokum mojito was really good.

Overrated Food, Appalling Service Kokni Kanteen's reputation is doing all the heavy lifting here, because the actual experience certainly isn't. Let's start with the food - overhyped, plain and simple. For a place that carries so much word-of-mouth praise, what lands on the table is a massive disappointment. Nothing justifies the hype. But the food is the least of the problems. The service was outright insulting. The staff, including the assistant manager Ashim, carried themselves with a level of arrogance that's genuinely hard to believe. They served food as though they were doing us a personal favour. There was zero warmth, zero professionalism, and zero basic courtesy - just cold, dismissive attitudes across the board. It was abundantly clear that the staff operate under the assumption that their reputation guarantees footfall regardless of how they treat paying customers. That kind of complacency is a slap in the face to anyone walking in with genuine expectations. For a place that calls itself prestigious and well-known, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Save your money, save your evening, and find somewhere that actually values its customers.

We have been visiting Konkani Canteen several times over the years, mainly because we come here for authentic Konkani/Goan flavours and specialty local fish like Murdushya, which is not easily available elsewhere. Unfortunately, our latest experience was very disappointing. For the first time, we were served a Goan fish curry with raw onion in it. Raw onion in a traditional Goan curry? This was completely unexpected, especially from a place known for Konkani food. When we raised the issue with the manager, our complaint was not taken seriously either. The food now seems to be losing its authentic Konkani character and becoming increasingly North-Indianised. The staff and possibly the kitchen team also seem to have changed, and sadly, the difference is noticeable. We have recommended this place to many people in the past. But after this experience, we can no longer recommend Konkani Canteen for authentic Goan/Konkani food. It is disappointing to see a place we once genuinely enjoyed move away from what made it special.

The restaurant is upto the level for the kind of hype created in the social media. I am goan and i know goan and konkani food but what these people serve is far away from the typical goan cuisine. disappoonted for food taste. Best part of this restaurant is its ambience and thats it. popolarity could have been another plus but seems to be inorganically hyped.

very poor quality and even poor attitude. served rubbery prawns and the kept arguing on the same, then when we ordered King fish because of the return they served us stale smelly fish which probably had decomposed. Please dont visit, not worth the price and definitely not worth the food prices.
