We recently visited Niyaaz in Goa and luckily we got to meet their Belgaum chef who had come down to Goa. He informed us that Niyaaz have introduced a centralised kitchen in Belgaum to ensure the exact same taste at all their locations. Not just this, he also recommended us to try their specials right from the starters to the dessert. And we must say, we left the place with the impression that Niyaaz is much more than their well known biryanis. We ordered: - Chicken soup with lemon and coriander: This chicken soup was very light. It's perfect if you are planning for heavy main course. It had lots of veggies too with a dash of lemon flavour. - Grilled chicken: Recommended. The marination masala was flavoursome and chicken was grilled impeccably. Even the given chutney complimented the chicken well. - Nizaami kebab: Must try! We absolutely loved these kebabs. They had a unique tangy and indulging flavour. - Mutton seekh kebab: Must try for all the mutton lovers! Being a seekh kebab fan, we would say these are one of the best mutton seekh kebab in Goa. - Biryani: Must try! We ordered Chicken biryani, Mutton biryani and Hyderabadi chicken biryani. We loved all the 3 variants!! Their biryanis made us nostalgic about our belgaum Niyaaz visits. The taste was exactly the same as Belgaum Niyaaz biryanis. - Chicken lazeez with Kulcha: Recommended. This chicken gravy was rich with flavours just like how mughlai gravys usually are!! Kulcha was well done and crispy. - Mutton zaika with butter naan: Recommended. Loved this combo with butter naan. Mutton lovers should definitely try this. - Falooda: Must try! We tried 4 flavours - Rose, Chocolate, Mango and Strawberry. All were yummy but we liked rose and chocolate more!! Service: Quick and prompt service. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Cost: Most of the items are in the range of 200 to 350 bucks. We had a memorable experience at Niyaaz. Would definitely recommend this place.

Niyaaz is well known for serving delicious biryanis not just in Belgaum bit in Goa as well. My go to biryani at Niyaaz is their signature mutton biryani. Currently Niyaaz is hosting Goa’s biggest unlimited biryani festival and its an amazing deal for ₹549/- you get an access to unlimited Biryani buffet. Plus one free drink and malai phirni for dessert. I absolutely loved their Lucknowi mutton biryani, prawns biryani and Hyderabadi mutton biryani. The festival is till 12th January so visit soon!

The signature biryani is just mind blowing. More importantly, you will find the taste same every time you order. Too good!

We tried the Chicken Biryani, Mutton Biryani, Nizami Kabab, Mutton Seekh and A stuffed chicken Tikka (cannot remember the name) I wish the servers had to serve the biryani, from the base and not just rice on top, because the base had all the masala! The rice on top was dry. Coming to the tikkas, everything was excellent! We also tried their Moong Dal Halwa, which was THE BEST! Definitely stole the show. A warm halwa with a cool rabdi, this was a match made in heaven! VFM: 5/5 Food: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5

Been a regular at Niyaz for years (since their Porvorim days), and honestly this is very disappointing to write. Ordered Murgh Akbari again, and for the third time, the dish was completely off: * No cashew * Too spicy * Not the same gravy at all * Chicken didn’t feel fresh We even ignored it the first time (LPG excuse), second time they denied it—but third time, same issue again. Manager came to the table, heard everything, and instead of fixing the problem properly, just offered a dessert. That’s not the point. We returned the dish because it was not edible for us, but it was still added to the bill. That’s honestly unacceptable. We used to travel from Anjuna just to eat here. Not anymore.

We’ve already faced repeated issues with Murgh Akbari—wrong taste, too spicy, no cashew, and questionable chicken quality. Management never handled it properly. Now after our last visit, my wife has been unwell since morning (stomach issues/diarrhea). Not making direct claims, but this definitely raises concerns about food quality and hygiene. This is no longer just about taste—it’s about safety. Also, previously when we returned the dish, it was still charged, and the manager’s solution was to offer a dessert instead of fixing the issue. After being regular customers for years, this is very disappointing. Not recommended anymore.
