Visited this restaurant today afternoon. The ambience was decent. The service was really slow. More than half of the tables were occupied. We ordered the following Murg lassoni tikka Mahi sarso da tikka Murg Biryani Mutton rogan josh Naan Kulcha Fresh lime soda beer The food was good but service needs to be improved. Also, no cocktail was available because of restrictions due to Covid.

What star is this hotel exactly? The list of disappointments are endless with this restaurant. Please have some shame for calling yourself the restaurant of a 5 Star Hotel. A roadside dhaba is better than this restaurant. Food menu is short. Hardly any options to eat and price is sky high. Poor quality of food, quantity and service. Most of the time the staff are clueless. They don't know how to welcome a customer or how to respond to queries. Made the same mistake thrice before serving the correct order. If anyone is looking for a place to eat, please go somewhere else. Not worth it. And honestly, the whole hotel looks like a government office building. I have never seen such a poorly designed 5 Star Hotel. The decor is pathetic too. The hype about it being a "Taj" hotel is an utter disappointment.

The breakfast buffet had a nice spread and the food was good. But if you’re not staying at the hotel and just going there for breakfast, it’s not exactly a welcoming experience. One of the waiters was super rude—right after we finished eating and stepped outside for a bit, he literally ran after us asking for payment, saying some people have left without paying before. He could’ve easily asked while we were still at the table. When we told him this isn’t the right way to treat guests, he just shrugged and said it doesn’t matter even if we complain to his manager. Totally ruined the mood. Never expected this kind of attitude from staff at a place that otherwise seems well-trained. Being a part of Tata family this is hight unexpected.

The foods were not upto 5 star category! Very less options for the dinner ! When asked for dosa , north east ethnicity we were said we need to pay extra ! No nun for the dinner ! Fish with tomato was tasteless ! No fresh piece added ! Only one water bottle was served against 5 people ! When asked for another one we were informed it would be charged ! No dahivara like Kolkata Vivanta does ! Named seven but no ethnic foods were available! Barbeque nation food taste better with many choice ! Food cost should not be more than 1000rs at these little options and mere taste

Being a restaurant in a 5 star hotel, foodies go there with a certain level of expectation which is definitely high as regards service standards, quality of food, range of food and drinks in the menu. However, at present, this restaurant is only a shade of its initial days and is even below par any standard fine dining restuarant in the city and doesn't merit the prices that it charges. The ambiance, the attitude of the staff, service and not least the quality of the food and most importantly the presentation is bland.

We visited the restaurant for lunch and were utterly disappointed. The service and food not at all do justice to the 5 star tag. The tables are so small that it is not possible to adjust the plates and the stuff you order; there's no place at all. Now coming to the food; we ordered paneer biryani, awadhi sabji korma and tandoori rotis. We asked the waiter to also bring some curd along with the biryani. It took them good 45-50 minutes for just these 3 items. We were surprised to see the rotis , burnt and very hard. The paneer biryani was bland as hell. The korma had little to no flavour. Even a roadside dhaba serves better food than this restaurant Also, the curd and raita came 10-15 mins after we started eating the biryani, after asking for it.

The entire experience is way too bad. Probably one of the worst in Guwahati. The staff talks as if they're the customers and i will serve them. The attitude is just not something you expect from a hospitality establishment of this brand name. The bar works from 4pm to 7pm which is lame. Most of the dishes in the menu from seven are unavailable. That is after they have literally 3 vegetarian dishes? Half a page has the entire menu. Umami is still not open due to cost cutting. All in all, the experience was so bad. Why dont you just ask me for money to visit you and i get fooled like that? Lesser expectations atleast.

The worst dining experience I had today on our wedding anniversary!! I knew the food in Vivanta was bad, since I had come here few times.. But since it’s not very far from our house, we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary here today. But the food here is so shitty that it completely spoilt our mood !! The starters were all stale, especially the paneer & fish !! High time they do something about improving the quality of the food !! PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR GOOD FOOD !! DISGUSTING IT IS !! Mere waste of money!!

Extremely poor designed restaurant. The food tastes worse and what's charged for it makes it pathetic. There are no tissues on the table, no proper cutlery and the service is worse than any restaurant one fourth the price. The food takes one hour to come and it doesn't taste better than any roadside cafe. Sorry this Taj experience can be strictly avoided!
