We landed in Hyderabad and knew right away that a visit to Hotel Dakshin (ITC Kakatiya) was a must. So the very next day, we were there for our afternoon meal and it was absolutely worth it. We went for their signature thali, which had a wonderful mix of chicken, mutton, fish, prawns, and vegetarian dishes — each one packed with authentic South Indian flavours. The preparations beautifully represented different regions of Southern India, and every bite felt rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. I was completely flabbergasted looking at the silver cutlery — such an elegant touch that instantly elevated the dining experience. A special mention to Kamlesh, who was very calm, attentive, and made our meal even more pleasant. From presentation to taste, everything was spot on. It’s rare to find a meal that satisfies both the heart and the stomach this well. A must-visit and a must-try if you’re in Hyderabad!

I reserved a table for my Mom and Dad on his birthday and it was one of the best experiences they had! My problem is that I wanted authentic south indian vegetarian food with a pinch of luxury because my parents are south indian and don't enjoy much of continental and north indian food. I was looking for a set menu because they have trouble picking items off the menu. Dakshin was one such restaurant which had a check list of all. They have a south indian thali that has an assorted mixture of all their best items. They were also kind enough to give a complimentary cake. Mr.Kameshwar Rao had made their experience extra special. They were treated with so much care! Love Dakshin!!

We visited dakshin restaurant at ITC Kakatiya, we frequently visit ITC for it's food, today is was offered a different napkin which was black, out of curiosity i asked the server why you changed my napkin, the answer from server amazed me that to protect my trouser from lints of the regular napkin they offered black napkin, I was really wowed with the such minor details and caring observation. Good food must visit place 😊

Food was, as always, delicious and a wholesome experience. Service was a bit slow surprisingly despite it being a Wednesday night. But overall great dinner experience with family.

Kamesh provided an amazing service guiding us through what to eat. Some food items were satisfactory, others were very good. Place only serves authentic South Indian food.

Ambience is extravagant and affluent. Service has always been top notch especially Kamesh's service has been excellent. Bit pricey during festival time but normal times it is worth visiting.

The kodi biryani taste has to be improved. There is no aroma. It just tasted like tawa biryani.

I visited with high hopes of trying the Meen Pollichattu, but when I asked for it, the manager recommended something else instead, explaining that it was very spicy and had been modified from the traditional Kerala recipe to suit Telangana tastes. We also tried their vegetarian thalis, which turned out to be quite average.

Rasam - too sweet. Meen Varuval - not marinated enough. 2/5 Veinchina Mamsam - very bland. 1/5 Appam - something was off with the batter. Veg Stew - finally something decent. 4/5 Prawn Vepudu - 2/5 prawn was very tough.
