~Pondy Parottas, Chandanagar~ #CornerCafes #LocalEateries #NeighbourhoodEateries Today had an impromptu dinner plan at Pondy Parottas, Chandanagar. It's a cosy, nice little place which was almost full even on a weekday. We ordered the following-- 1. Non-veg platter (1 portion): It had two chicken starters (fried chicken and a chinese chicken preparation), one fish preparation, one prawn preparation (6 medium sized prawns), and a fried egg. Tasted really heavenly, especially the chicken preparations. 2. Ambur Mutton Special Biryani (Regular, 1 portion): Nice, aromatic biryani. Tasted authentic, but could have given some more mutton. 3. Kerala Kulukki (2 portions): It was a drink. Tasted as if UP's Soda-Shikanji is garnished with mint leaves, lemon slices, and a sliced green chilli. Good to have. Service was very good-- they asked multiple times whether we needed anything or not, and assisted us with the descriptions/ ingredients of various items. Prompt and courteous. Bill for all of the abive came around just tad short of 1500. Finished the meal with hot jalebis from the nearby Burfi Ghar. #CornerCafes #LocalEateries #NeighbourhoodEateries

the place is good. ambience is good and food is great. we ordered chilly egg and chicken kothu parotta.. they are delicious. we loved and would suggest it to everyone.

The staff members are not responding properly. even with less number of customers, they took more than 40mins to serve food. They added extra items in bill, better to recheck before paying

Had chicken and egg kothu parotta. The taste was not upto the mark and didn’t match my expectations. The flavours felt average and lacked the usual richness I was expecting. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Ambience needs improvement. Some beggars entered the place and started asking for food etc. The management should be more careful to ensure customers are not inconvenienced

The service was terribly slow! We had to wait 20 minutes only to get the menu & another 25 minutes to get the food. Only the Ambur Chicken biriyani was good, even though it didn't take like Ambur briyani, rather tasted like Chettinad biriyani. The Nethli fish curry was horrible (too much tamarind)

The service was extremely disappointing—no one came to take our order for a long time, and when they did, the staff kept passing tasks to each other without taking responsibility. I ordered a drink that never arrived, and no one seemed to care. The food wasn’t worth the price either.

we waited for more than 30 min and we had to ask multiple times for a biriyani which was already cooked. we wanted to order porottas but the waiter said it will take 30min more.
