I specifically went to Spice Court to try their famous Mutton Baati after seeing countless food bloggers, reviews and videos praising it. I genuinely went there with high expectations. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the most disappointing food experiences I have had in Jaipur. Let’s start with the Mutton Baati. ₹1,250 + taxes for just two pieces of baati with their “mutton gravy” without even a single piece of mutton in the gravy is already an astonishing price. But honestly, the price would have been secondary if the food had been remotely good. The baatis were extremely dry, bland and almost completely tasteless. There was absolutely nothing remotely exciting or memorable about them. And the filling? I genuinely had moments where I wondered whether I was actually eating mutton or soya granules pretending to be mutton. For something marketed as a signature dish, this was shockingly underwhelming. And then came the “mutton gravy.” Calling it mutton gravy is, frankly, generous, the gravy itself was bland, tasteless and completely devoid of the depth, richness and flavour you expect from a proper mutton preparation. At one point while eating it, I genuinely thought: “My mother can make a basic aloo-matar gravy a thousand times better than this.” And that is not an exaggeration. The entire experience felt like I had somehow ordered Jain food at a restaurant specialising in mutton. What made the experience even worse was what happened when I gave my feedback. I told both the serving staff and the manager that I found the food extremely disappointing. Instead of acknowledging the feedback or even trying to understand what went wrong, the response was essentially: “We have already served 20–30 people today and nobody has complained.” That is not really a response to customer feedback. Other people enjoying a dish does not invalidate the experience of the customer standing in front of you telling you that they genuinely disliked it. A good restaurant should be interested in why a customer was disappointed, rather than using the number of people served as a defence. I came here because of the reputation, the reviews and the food bloggers who made this place sound like a must-try in Jaipur. Unfortunately, the only thing memorable about my Mutton Baati experience was how badly it missed the mark. ₹1,250 + taxes for two dry baatis and a bowl of bland gravy would have been expensive even if the food were average. For food this disappointing, it was simply not worth it. Hype: 10/10 Price: 10/10 Food: 1/10 Customer response to feedback: 0/10 Maybe I caught them on an exceptionally bad day. Maybe the dish is usually better. But I can only review the meal that was served to me and this meal was nowhere close to what I expected from a restaurant with this reputation.

Went here for a solo dinner after looking at the menu on Zomato. Wanted to get half plate laal maas but they refused. Nothing updated anywhere online and when asked, they said hume nahi dena isiliye nahi hai, aap kahi aur chale jaao Had come from Bengaluru, least I could expect from here was some courtesy. Had to leave not because of ordering full plate but how they behaved.

The staff was good, but the food was horrible. I’m genuinely surprised by the Google reviews. I ordered the Jungli Maas and: A) the portion size was quite small B) it was bland and honestly tasted bad The place is extremely expensive for the quality of food and ambience they offer. Even the ambience is fairly mediocre and nowhere close to justifying the pricing.

More salt in paneer. Paneer too stiff, probably old. Daal tasteless. Roti also typical taste maybe because of atta quality. Would never visit again
