Crispy and fluffy square parotta with gravy and bdf😋😋😋. The kappa Biriyani was just amazing. Well cooked beef and kappa in perfect harmony to create a blast of flavour.

Better known as Balettante/ Balan Chettante Kada, this is not a place to go if you're particular about ambiance and hygiene, but definitely a place to go if you like tasty, local food! They're famous for their square porottas and beef, but I go there for the chicken chilly fry. It's basically your normal chicken fry shredded and sauteed with sliced onion, slit green chillies, maybe a dash of crushed pepper and a generous splash of coconut oil. I'm salivating just at the thought of it! Used to be even better when Rinoos was right next door, serving the soul-cooling avocado shake to cool your tongue after the fiery meal from here, but Rinoos has now moved to a slightly further location. If you're in Fort Kochi and looking for tasty local food, this is one place you could try.
