10 stars! When we walked into Kerela Cafe we had no idea it would be our favourite place. Let me break down the reasons why you have to come here and then keep coming here. Location- it’s located right near Princess Street and is pretty much walking distance from the beach. Ambience- the place looks deceptively small from the outside. With multiple seating around various nooks and crannies there is enough space for people. Our favourite was the courtyard area at the back that is beautiful and cool especially in the evenings. Service- the place thrives under Biju, the manager par excellence & Vinod who personally overlooks everything. The staff is attentive, smiling especially Hari & Akhil who try their best to make you comfortable. Between them & the ever calm Biju you feel like you have come home. Food- where does one begin? Everything from the crispy garlic dosas to the prawns in mango curry to the grilled fish with soft pillowy appams make you want to keep going back if not anything than to run through all dishes so you don’t feel you haven’t missed anything. The biryanis and the pepper prawns along with the pineapple salad make you wish you had a bigger appetite. The drinks are amazing but the pineapple kulliki has my heart. I would blindly recommend this place to anyone and everyone who wants to taste authentic Kerala food and wants to experience the legendary Kerala hospitality. You will become their fan for life. Just like we have.

The food… the service… the vibe. It’s beyond perfect. Everyone from Biju, the manager to Hari & Akhil our servers went above and beyond to make our meal and visit enjoyable.

This was our first time trying Keralan food and it was really appetising! The Chicken Mangalore Ghee Roast was my favourite and it went best with Appam rather than the Kerala Parotta.

worst place to go if you are thinking food. if you want to take pictures you can come here. the place served bad food with even worse attitude. it also had kinda foul smell throughout the restaurant. I ordered Thalassery biryani and the food was unpalatable, undercooked. They placed uncooked rice over some chicken roast and called it biryani. The waiter just put on the table coldly not served it like at a restaurant. I don't mean them serving literally but the experience of feeling like they did it just because you walked in and they had to. the waiter made faces and the manager at the counter had such ego. wonder if anyone comes back. never coming back here. they took away the food quickly before I could get a pic so no photo

Charged for Onam Sadiya with basic 4 item vegetable 790 each. Almost like cut your head. Don’t make money like this without any service. Just three items on banana leaf and never served again. We were sitting on top without air and so hot and without any service above
