Olive hotel - A choice near infopark to have a couple of drinks . Their restaurant is usually empty on week Day night as the rush only to bar . A place if you r staying near infopark and want to have a drink with family without driving too much .. food is average

Yesterday I had a friend from Bangalore who is an avid foodie and wanted to have appam and mutton stew, so we zeroed in on Olive Eva Seven Spices as its near to my residence which served beer/wine in the restaurant. However, the experience has been really disappointing to say the least and I would never recommend the hotel to anyone. Ambiance: The ambiance is good in terms of cleanliness and wide seating areas. Food: My friend asked for a chilled beer and they could hardly find one which was chilled. It was only plain cold and we had to repeatedly ask for the beer to be chilled. I ordered for a New England Seafood Soup which was average. For the started we ordered fish and chips but the fish was stale and was fried to dark brown despite being told not to. They did change it halfway through when we commented on the same, but the fish was still stale and we just barely managed to finish it as we did not want to waste the food. The main course appam was good though, but the mutton stew was a disaster. The meat was so firm, it was not at all tender and juicy and the stew was very sweet, with that obvious hint of added sugar. Overall, it was a complete disappointment for us and we decided to get a dessert from the nearby Carnival Food Court which was the only saving grace of our evening. I was secretly praying that I should not be down with a food poisoning considering the quality of food that we just had and was really embarrassed about suggesting Seven Spices to my friend. We saw other guests being served welcome drink and appetizers, however, we did not receive any. Staff Attitude: Staff were polite and did cooperate when we commented on the food. The service is slow, but since we had a lot to talk over dinner, the slow service wasn't such a heckle, but if you are in a hurry, just be aware the service will take longer. We did go with expectations considering that this is located in a commercially popular area and would be serving Indian and International guests, however, I was left wondering if the guests were treated this way, it would not be good for the hotel in the long run.
