Recommendations: Cheese Podi Dosa, Bheeman Roast I first visited Pai Dosa seven years ago, aged 16. A few friends and I were out running errands and opted for this store tucked away down a lane off of MG Road. Since my move back to Kochi a couple months ago, I’ve made several trips down to this little gem to get my fill of variety Dosa. Pai’s started off with 36 varieties of dosa way back in the day. They’ve now expanded their menu to a whopping 180 and continue to retain their bustling alleyway store. What’s better than dosas cooked to crackly perfection? Getting said dosas well into the night; and that’s exactly what Pai’s has to offer. When speaking of Pai’s, my friend always gets a wistful look on her face. The words that then tumble off her lips on a sigh are “Cheese Podi Dosa!” Podi is a popular South-Indian condiment to dosa, idli, etc. This spicy powder paired with a copious dispersal of mozzarella cooked over the crispiest dosa definitely warrants the dreamy look we all seem to get when speaking of this particular treat. The Bheeman Roast is a MASSIVE plain dosa served with two chutneys and sambar. A portion of this is fit for a whole family! So, if you plan on plunging into a food coma, grab your best mate and indulge in this feast. Masala, egg, garlic, onion, tomato, cheese, and much more fill the counter behind which these wholesome meals are prepped. Each ingredient is dealt with a generous hand making Pai’s one of the most pocket-friendly, value for money joints in town. There’s also a spacious parking lot right next to the store which is rare to come by on MG Road. The next time you’re around, make sure you check Pai’s out, you will not be disappointed. Needless to say that its a famous place in the region. I am visiting after almost a decade. Used to be a regular place for night eating during college. So it was nostalgia that drove me to the place this time. Place is much bigger than before, they have parking. I went on a working day, so it wasnt crowded. You prepay and give the token. Collect your stuff and enjoy. Back in the days, my favourite was the lasoon kada egg dosa. So flavourful. Its gone down, but still almost there. New item we had was the Kanchipuram series of dosa. Its worth trying. Chutney is nowhere close to where it used to be. But thats okay. This place should be included in your next trip to mg road. Must for a person who loves a customised dosa. PS: 36 Varieties of dosa has now become 100+.

One of those authentic and must visit places in kochi. Pai dosa is famous for their endless varieties of dosas, each one better than the other. The kada mutta dosa is one of their specialities. The quantity is worth the price. They have a live counter where they make the dosas and it is self service. Could improve on the ambience but overall worth a visit.

They have like 179 varieties of Dosa. Only Vegetarian available. I've had their Kada Bullseye Dosa and the normal Bullseye Dosa. Both were good. The Kada Bullseye Dosa is a tummy filler. They serve with Samabar, chutney and achar. If you love Dosas, then you must visit this place. Affordable too.

I love the wide variety of dosas that was available. We ordered masala dosa the dosa was crispy chutney was tasty. Filter coffee served here is also pretty good but the issue is the cleaniness. At least the mg road outlet isn't very clean in my opinion so minus two stars for that

Frankly speaking I feel Paid is a bit too expensive compared to the ambience and quantity they provide. Probably coz I never understood the logic of having disaster from outside. Tattu dosa (₹50) Is definitely value for money. Loved it

Disappointing South Indian Dining Experience; I visited this restaurant with high hopes, especially given its inviting open kitchen and clean, traditional South Indian ambiance. Unfortunately, the food quality fell shockingly short of expectations. Food (-1/5): As a South Indian craving authentic flavors, the dosa was a letdown. The masala dosa was overloaded with potato, turning it into a soggy, unappetizing lump. The use of local stringy mozzarella instead of Amul cheese made the "cheese dosa" tasteless and rubbery. Even the podi and ghee dosa lacked balance. The chutney portions were meager, and the sambar was underwhelming—both failed to complement the dish. Service (1/5): No notable positives here. The experience felt rushed, with little attention to feedback or customer satisfaction. Atmosphere (1/5): While the setup initially impressed with its cleanliness and open kitchen, the overall vibe was dampened by the poor dining experience. Conclusion: This restaurant has potential due to its location and aesthetic, but the lack of quality control and poor execution of classic dishes make it hard to recommend. A serious reevaluation of recipes and portion ratios is needed.
