This place is quite popular for the fine dining Bengali cuisine in Kolkata and have multiple outlets. I visited this place during Durga Pujo and they only had buffet options available. Veg buffet was priced at 1450 plus taxes. The prices were slightly on higher side but I have to say that quality was pretty awesome and so does the variety. All the curries, luchi, rice, sweets tasted pretty great. I had a great meal here and would definitely recommend them.

6 BP is a famous name and I have visited their original restaurant multiple times and on 15th Apr decided to visit the Newtown Kolkata restaurant for a family dinner. 2 things that put me off that evening was, 1. I had a pre booked reservation and was supposed to get a 10% discount on that which they refused to honour, asking me to take this up with the app instead. Why do they even give such false ads of discounts on apps when the refused to honour the same? 2. The Basanti Pulao, a typical Bengali delicacy everyone knows, was made with Basmati rice and not Govindobhog rice! This I think should be mentioned in their menu as the flavours are not the same with a different rice variety. Otherwise, the overall food was good, and was quite nice.

This time our visit to the 6 Ballygunge Place Newtown branch in this Saptami , 29th Sep'25 turned out to be quite disappointing. Having had a wonderful experience at their original Ballygunge location branch back in 2017, where the food was truly exceptional, we were craving nostalgia, go to 6 Ballygunge place once again this time but If you’re craving regret, try the Newtown one. The standards seem to have declined significantly. The overall experience was underwhelming. Given the quality and taste of the food, the pricing felt unjustifiably steep. The mutton was poorly cooked which simply fought back and the chingri (prawn) malai curry was a letdown—the prawns were not properly cleaned and were noticeably overcooked. The dal was passable at best. In a nutshell, It was a masterclass in brand erosion and a reminder that even cherished names can ruin a day meant to be memorable. Based on this visit, I would strongly recommend avoiding the Newtown branch. It simply doesn’t live up to the reputation the brand once held.

Waiter is rude and said I should have asked before completing the payment through district app as they do not accept District payments for cocktails, which they had not mentioned before, while serving it or while giving us the bill. He kept on insisting that he will bring a separate bill and I will have to pay again. When I refused to pay extra, he said this time he is ‘letting it go’ and I should be careful next time. Needless to say, I will not be visiting again.

Highly disappointed with today's lunch experience at 6 ballygunge place, New Town. There was a fly in the dining area, constantly roaming at the table we sat at. I wasn't able to focus on my food did to this. Secondly, service was very delayed. We saw food arriving at other tables in the meanwhile, some of them had placed order after we had. The floor manager also didn't know why there was a delay. Expected much streamline Operations from this reputed establishment.

Food was not up to the mark, food was served after 1 and half hour of placing the order and the staff behaviour is also unacceptable.
