Aaheli at The Peerless Inn is one of Kolkata’s classic destinations for authentic Bengali fine dining. The restaurant beautifully preserves the old-world charm and cultural essence of Bengal while delivering a polished luxury dining experience. The food was outstanding — especially the traditional seafood and mustard-based preparations, which felt deeply authentic yet refined in presentation. Every dish carried rich Bengali flavours without being overly heavy. The kosha-style dishes and desserts were equally memorable. The elegant ambience, warm hospitality, and heritage feel make Aaheli stand out from newer commercial Bengali restaurants. A must-visit for anyone wanting to experience Bengali cuisine in its most sophisticated and authentic form.

food was pretty good , only downside was drinks , very few options were available had to go for gondhoraj ghol which is pretty regular , wanted the litchi juice which wasn't available , starters were impressive prawn cutlet and bhetki fry , main course also good

The coconut water was not that good, loved the murshidabad murgir cutlet, prawn polao and mutton dakbunglow. Desserts including chatni papad malai kalakand, malpoa were excellent. But the service is a little slow.

We selected Aam Pora Sharbat as an appetizing drink followed by Aaheli Bhoj Thali. Beverage taste & quantity was good.

Food needs to be improved. Quality isn’t that good specially the main course. Starters are great.

Horrible experience. Took one non-veg Thali (@Rs. 1995) and a chicken pula, with high expectations. Disappointed to see most of the items covered with oil and fried deep. Never recommend a pulao if you care about your health. Thali at 2k can never be so bad, if you compare with other places. Paaturi served after we're done, with apologies that don't weigh the highly expensive price tag. A fish was fried coated with besan, but we had to drop it after a bit. It's rotten.
