Visited Amina a couple of weeks back. The experience with service was miserable. It seemed like nobody cared about the guests that came in. Ordered below items- • Pasinda murgh seekh kebab, Murgh hariyali kebab, Irani chicken tandoor- Taste was good. Portion was adequate. • Amina special chicken curry- Personally didn't like the taste of this broath. • Rumali roti- Not good either. Was not rumali at all. • Pudding - This was good vanilla flavoured pudding. Disheartening to see iconic places like these sort making no efforts to improve in neither in guest management. Although, food was decent but their staff attitude towards customers is primarily why I am rating it low. Would refrain from visiting this iconic place again.

The restaurant was too loud, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. While the service staff were quick, they were impolite and inattentive to customer needs, often ignoring instructions and serving incorrect portions. This reflects the typical attitude of many old establishments in Kolkata, relying on their legacy rather than improving service. The food was overpriced with small portions. The biryani and kebab was average in taste and lacked quantity. Firni was delicious, but the chicken gravy was a major disappointment—small pieces floating in oil with no flavor or masala.

Ambience is so bad. Food quality and taste is not upto the mark. But worst thing is their staff behavior. Very disappointed about their behavior. Their behavior is like they are our "BOSS" and we are their "SERVANT" or "MAID". Very very very very very rude. I have never seen this kind of behavior in my life till now. At the end, the waiter wanted tips like it is his right, we have to give him the tips. We are very disappointed. The atmosphere is very clumsy, noise. Today our experience is worst. I think it is worst restaurant in Kolkata. New Market branch is shame of the Aminia.

Ah the heritage restaurant needs restoration from their kitchen to restaurants to their hygiene. Worst experience, if you want to taste biryani go elsewhere, it you want to taste chicken chaap go elsewhere , the only thing good was a chilled coke bottle. I didnt like the mutton piece and the server told me to keep eating he will replace. Can you imagine, in the middle of eating biryani he took my piece away, stowed it and replaced with a fresh piece and to my astonishment, gave my piece to some fellow guest. Gosh. Horrifying experience. Never go there

Appears fully taken over by non Bengali speaking persons. You will have to search your table for yourself. STAFF BEHAVIOUR IS HIGHLY RUDE AND NON PROFESSIONAL. They will not listen to your request of controlling temperature of AC. Cabin fans are not working. The Aroma of food and taste which used to be their only positive point are fully missing nowadays. Quantity is also not compatible with a full grown. You will have to search a service boy to give your order even. I had to give one star because there is no option for giving negative marking. 😭

i went to Aminia at the New Market Area of Kolkata on 13th March 2025. I ordered for Mutton Biryani with Egg. i was given Mutton Biryani without Egg. When i complained, Egg was given in a seperate plate. The waiter should check and give the food. Now coming to the food part. The single piece Mutton was hard and did not seem fresh. The Biryani rice was dry and hardly any spices. Overall, very bad Biryani.

I went there with my friends today. O visited last there last year and it was way better. I was disappointed, because I was the one who suggested the place. The mutton was not up to the mark. The chicken from chicken biryani was even worse. It was stiff and smelly. I wasn't sure if it was fresh. so disappointed.

Extremely pathetic experience. The Biriyani (Mutton) they served us was cold and tasteless. Horrible experience and a complete waste of money. Avoid this at all cost.
