This place is located very close to Kalighat metro station. The name of the place is self explanatory. If you want to experience some taste of Kerala then it’s a must go. Must try: Malabari paratha, Idiyappam, egg/veg appam along with mutton olathede, chicken curry, and chicken biryani (not like Kolkata biryani but it’s delicious), Rasam, filter coffee, Kesari Pocket pinch: 1000-1200/- for 2

Ammini is easily one of the best places in Kolkata for authentic South Indian food. The appam was soft and fluffy, perfect to pair with curries. The mutton sukka was outstanding – tender, full of flavour and cooked just right. Everything tasted fresh and homely. Service was warm and quick, and the overall vibe made the meal even better. Definitely a must-visit if you love South Indian food.

Food was good but not the dessert (not worth the price). Appam was overly fermented

The taste was decent, but I felt it was highly overpriced for the quantity they served. The waiter assured us that the chicken roast would have 4–5 pieces, but there were barely 3 pieces, with 2 tiny ones detached from the others. The idiyappam and appam were good, while the porotta was average. The chicken roast, however, still gives me nightmares considering the price they charged for it.

I had a very below average experience at the restaurant. The restaurant staff look disappointed at us being there. Instead of being welcoming. The food was okay at best. Considering that the food reviews overall are really great. We expected amazing food, but we were served bland dishes. I’m not able to relate to the existing reviews. Maybe it was an off day at the office for them.

I just had appam and mutton olathede. This mutton item was very dry, its like overcooked. More bones were present than meat in each piece. I dont like the taste at all. The appam was soft but mutton was not up to the mark. For me it was just waste of money. May be other items are good. If you want to visit try other items apart from this combo.
