I’ve been to Anand a few times during my travels to Kolkata and the food has always surpassed my expectations. The best South Indian fare in all of Kolkata easily and I’ve enjoyed trying out the idli, vada, masala dosa and the accompanying array of chutneys + sambar. Pairing their yum breakfast offerings with their strong filter coffee can bring a smile to my face anytime. I was recommended Anand by a close friend and it’s commendable how the staff & management have strived to keep the quality and service consistent through all these years. Truly a gem in Kolkata and would definitely recommend it to anyone craving good South Indian food.

Most comforting and authentic South Indian food available in all of Kolkata! Cheese dosa and fried idli curd is brilliant! Not to forget the vada dipped in sambhar! Great service! Love the feel and ambience of the place too! It’s a heritage restaurant in the city - 70 plus years old and a must visit for locals and travellers.

It's simply the best South Indian restaurant in town! Their dahi vadas and medu vadas are definitely the best. Their Onion Rava dosas and Dhania dosas are excellent! Even their chola bhaturas are great! Besides a good ambience and service, their prices are reasonable too!

I have always wanted to visit this restaurant as it is one of the oldest in Kolkata. The sitting area is quite spacious which can fit a lot of people. We ordered Onion Masala Dosa & Rava Masala Dosa. The taste was quite good with a good amount of masala. The chutney could have been better but liked the sambar. The waiters were a bit reluctant. I had to ask for the menu card quite a few times. Moreover the price was a bit too high. Overall a good experience and average food.

Went to the restaurant with family this weekend. We ordered :- 1. Butter vegetable uttapam 2. Butter Masala dosa 3. Masala dosa 4. Channa bhatura They do not serve masala without onion. The service was quick. However, the masala taste was okay. Sambhar and chutney tasted good but not wow. Channa bhatura felt like home, subtle taste.

Terrible and slow service. Many items in the menu were not available. Didn’t expect this from a restaurant of this reputation.
