Banana Leaf at Garia is a good spot to have lip smacking and pocket friendly South Indian food. We are familiar with eating food from Banana Leaf in the other existing locations, the quality and taste is what makes them stand out from the rest of the places in terms of South Indian cuisine. This is a brand which is led by Rajesh Bala and he is expanding it to the right locations to reach out to more people. I dropped in here at Uphor Town Center where it is located at the front end meant for shopping and all. The place has the signature Banana Leaf simplistic and green colour paint. And so is the casual tables and chairs in wooden style that can be comfortable for 15 to 20 people. A lot of deliveries they get through delivery services in the neighborhood apartments. So it's already making the right noise it should make. I ate Masala Dosa and relished it for the crispness and potato mixed with spices that's stuffed inside. The sambhar and cocunut chutney is made fresh and flavourful too. Will definitely come here whenever i am around Garia to satisfy my hunger for healthy, clean and tasty South Indian food at popular prices.

Banana Leaf is synonymous to authentic and orthodox South Indian veg food here in Kolkata! They have opened up another outlet at Upohar Town centre, Garia and that happens to be the sole outlet in that area serving authentic South Indian food. I have been a die-hard fan of their masala dosa so when I visited this place I didn’t miss out to order my favourite masala dosa along with some mini idlis and a soft drinks to wash things down! Food quality was excellent as always! But this place is not very big, it has got limited seating area but the decor is minimalistic and neat. Typical of an orthodox South Indian eating house. No frills joint for good food and good service! Service is always very prompt and warm, with unlimited supply of sambar and white chutney! Location wise, it’s easy to track the place if you just target to reach the Upohar apartments, then just ask anyone for the community place having all the eateries. Banana leaf is now a legacy when it comes to South Indian food who aren’t into aggressive marketing, they only focus on their food quality and service! Definitely thumbs up from my side.

Ordered paper masala dos and podi masala dosa... Which was quite good. The prices according to the food needs to be a bit less... Maintaining the quality.

I had picked up dosas and sada badas from there as my sister just shifted there in her new flat but I cannot resist myself in expressing my dissatisfaction regarding the quality of the food and the price charged. The white chutney was stale, badas not fried properly. The masala served separately was also not fresh. Will not turn up for the next time and would not recommend anybody to visit there.
