It is one of the oldest dining space in North Kolkata. It is located at Hedua, opposite to Bethune College. the food items are pocket friendly and the quantity will suffice your hunger. Enough for one person. I mainly had Mughlai Paratha, and it's really great. Worth the price, costs ₹ 55/- . It will be enough for the lunch purposes. The staffs are friendly too. But the place consumes very little space, and not you really can't expect it to be very shiny but they do keep the space clean. Keep in mind that it is an old place, over 100 years old, so the ambience is like the old north Kolkata only.

It's one of the oldest food joints in kolkata. Wanted to try their foods since a long time and few days ago finally gave a try. Don't expect a posh ambience as it’s a old cabin but their food was too good. I had tried fish kaviraji, chicken chowmein, lemon chicken. Fish kaviaji was too delicious and flavourful. Chowmein was like normal chowmein that we generally have and the lemon chicken was a little bit different in taste but food quantity and quality both were good.

An average place in the college street area serving snacks at a very pocket friendly price. The staffs are nice but the place is a little bit clumsy. The quantity of the dishes is sufficient but tastes average. A place to have snacks from but might not satisfy your taste buds. Try out the place if you are in college street. Happy fooding!!

This place isn't upto mark not anymore. Price is bit increased and cutlet sizes small . Kabiraji Quality good, others food is good too quantity wise Quality needed to bit upgraded . Service really nice .

Today I visited Basanta Cabin with my friends.We ordered Mutton Kabiraji,Mutton Cutlet,Fish Kabiraji along with Omlette.The taste was good but does not justify the price.

I don't know how on Earth is this place famous. The amibance was so bad. Service was okay.And the food was pretty average. . I wanted to order Fish Kabiraji but somehow they asked me to try out their Mutton Kabiraji. The coating was more and the stuffing was not even good. I found a bone of mutton inside. Total wastage of money. . Not a good experience. Not at all recommended!

Special fish fry tar chobi niche attach korechi dekhte paro ki size e esheche just 1ta bite kheyechilam. Mota coating songe fish kichui chilo na. special keno nam diyeche jani na. Pore cash counter er madam k bolate uni bollen puro bhetki tai etoh choto fish fry. kintu bhetki r sign tuku o pai ni. etoh patla filet. onek jaygai special fish fry kheyechi sedin ekhane kheye etoh dam diye bishon e disappoint holam. Pore ekjon kormochari bolen je onader cook naki khawar e marche etc etc. Fish fry ta kheye jokhon customer dissapoint e hobe tokhon seta agei bole dite parten. Etoh kharap lagchilo etoh taka diye eta kine bole bojhanor noi.

Not worth visiting. We ordered Fish Kabiraji & Chicken cutlet. Wanted Moglai Paratha at 4.30 pm but they informed that they can't serve before 5 pm. Now for the food they served, Fish Kabiraji nothing extraordinary. Chicken cutlet, too thin to realise the taste. Place is not very clean too. Not a nice experience.

They don't even have a bottle of hand wash for the customers. We had to wait for 15 minutes and they bought a 5 rupee soap. The food we ordered was of average quality, not anything special.
