Decided to celebrate my wife's birthday here and it was one of the best decisions taken in a long time. We ordered coffee, the club sandwich and pasta The food at such places is always great, no second thoughts about that but the staff were the stars of the show. When they found out we were celebrating a birthday, they tried their best to present us with a cake, which we politely refused since we had already had a ton in the morning. However, they went their extra way by giving us an extra coffee and cookies and even spending additional time to write "Happy Birthday" on the coffee! it's things such as this that stay in the memory. Hats off to the staff here. A repeat visit is 100% on the cards

A few days ago I went to Taj Bengal Cal 27 to enjoy Sunday brunch...☺️ I can swear that the time spent there was one of the best experience of my life..😌😌😌 Dreamy interior...🤩 Every stuff is very very good...😊 & Brunch which had various items..🤤 From the starter to the main course to the dessert, everything was amazing...🥰🤤 All in all, it was a magical crowning experience..🥰☺️🥰

The buffet spread may not be extravagant, but the quality and taste of food is amazing. The service was also amazing. Definitely a must go in case you are celebrating a special occasion.

Cal 27 is the restaurant serving Bengali, Continental & Pan Asian Cuisines at Taj Bengal, Kolkata Taj Bengal is located just opposite to Alipore Zoo near PTS Crossing and needs no certain description about its grandeur or services. There are 4 different speciality restaurants out of which Cal27 is a buffet serving the different cuisines. Rates accordingly to 5-star category are relatively decent but honestly speaking, food was not at all embarking. Also the service was not at par as it would be in a 5-star. Infact, I have tried and tasted twice to thrice by visiting their buffet, few of the items are blunt and not of premium quality as it should be. I don't want to blemish as negativity but this buffet is actually in my secondary list Overall, I would like to honest expect that Taj Bengal would look into this affair so as to improve their quality and remarks as one of the good going 5-star in this competitive food industry though they can comfort with their namesaken fan base !!

I was a bit disappointed with the overall food experience at Cal 27 and it was so not the way i expected it would be.. They are charging 2183 INR for lunch buffet on weekdays but the buffet spread is nothing like it justifies the price at all.. The Starters , main course and desserts, nothing was upto the mark to write home about.. The service was top notch and of course , the ambiance of the entire place was breathtaking..

My bad that i went to this outlet for Dinner on 11th May 2024 instead of Souk. I have been multiple times to this restaurant but never tasted such horrible food in a long long time. The starters and salad section had anything descent. The food in the main course section was just terrible. Taste was really bad be it the yellow Daal ( Dal Fry as per buffet card placed) , Grilled chicken was covered in sweet soya sauce, cut in chilly chicken pieces and ofcourse no skin. I really thought my wife is a terrible cook till I tried this buffet! Dessert section was the only thing descent. Service and the server was excellent but that doesn't compensate this quality of food. Honestly much better options available at JW and ITC at a cheaper price. Not trying this buffet anytime soon again.

Had a very unpleasant and odd experience at Taj Bengal, during the breakfast buffet. The food and the service quality has dropped. The tea served to us was just lukewarm water, the sausages were cold, the sambhar, chhole, and the aaloo ki sabji were too salty. When we complained to the chef, they became defensive and said that food tastes and choices were personal preferences and taste varies from person to person. Rather than accepting the feedback, they were adamant that they do all the quality checks before setting the food To top it all off, they got me my waffles, after 3 reminders and 45 minutes late. And just look at the condition of the waffle. Is having a burnt waffle a choice and a food preference?

To begin with, the price of Weekend lunch buffet is ₹3000 per person. This considering the above price, the food options were very limited! (specially for vegetarians) Apart from the food, there is no proper menu set & the taste is average to say the least! Coming to the worse thing & that is service!! I seriously can't believe that Taj, which was once famous for its customer service has come down to this level.. It took about 1hr to get a single pizza, & apart from that, vargin mojito took 30mins, which was tooo bitter & sour I would strongly recommend to avoid this resturant at any cost as the serving staff members are least interested to give a proper service!

Went for a family dinner..but the night was spoiled due to the rude & unprofessinal behaviour of Mr. Subhabrata Dasgupta.. he kept us waiting for 1 n half hours promising us a table... but continued providing tables to people who walked in after us...i don't know him personally but his behaviour unlike other Taj staffs was unexpectedly rude!! Food was also below average.. Morever will never visit Cal 27 in near future.

Food items are not upto the mark. Non-veg items are terrible. Mutton was hard to tear. Chicken tikka having bones in it. Biriyani that was served is not at all a biriyani. Desserts are still ok. But our experience in dining was not at all good. Staffs behaviour was also not very welcoming.
