It was around 9:25 pm when I went there along with my parents. They informed me that it's closed and they're not taking new orders, as it was quite late I requested if they can make an exception and they did. My parents have had a wonderful time, they come from that era and were recalling memories and so. Food was good and I got there another exception as well, staffs are polite and well mannered, they know their job well. My parents have already made new plans to visit Calcutta Bunglow, so I am very pleased with their service and for making my parents so comfortable as well.

Calcutta Bungalow is a lovely place to dine in, but timing matters. If you visit during busy hours, like Puja season, you might not get the full experience. For an evening snack or an early dinner, though, it’s just perfect—especially if you’re going for the vibe and the aesthetic. It’s also a great spot for a first date, with its warm, cozy atmosphere. The food is good, the service is sweet, and overall it makes for a charming experience.

Ambience is really good, old nostalgic timeless Kolkata classic vibes. Calcutta Bunglow style mutton tasted amazing. But seats are very less sitting place is also very small. Avoid visiting during festivals and busy hours.

We visited on Doshomi of Durga puja. There was a wait time of around 1 hour but the food served was of good quality and taste. Though the menu is limited on puja days, the ambience is really great.

Located near Shyambazar, Calcutta Bungalow is a heritage hotel done by restoring an old house. Interiors have been done up very tastefully and elegantly. They have their cafe on the terrace which doesn't have an ac and you would need to climb 3 floors to reach which might be a bummer for many. Terrace is done pretty nicely. You have comfortable seating and staff is warm, polite. Food is however a let down with very limited options since they have curtailed their menu over the years. Bengali cuisine is what is primary available and is quite nice with good portion sizes. I like their aloo dam, potol dolma, cholar daal with narkel, luchi. If one is not visiting during lunch or dinner, you might have to be content ordering just a beverage. Overall the place is suited for some chill time when the weather is not too hot and food is not your priority.

I visited Calcutta Bungalow to dine at Lunchtime. The ambience was good, the place is compact so not much space for a large group of people. Food was good and tasty 😋, but service is not good. Less staff to manage the place. I want to share my experience: we ordered a starter and Main course at the same time. so Food came one by one, but something was missed, once Plates came 10 min after food was served at the table. So we have to eat cold food. No staff nearby to order the next food items, so we waited for the staff to visit us. Too much of a delay in services in this place. So if you have ample time then visit this place.

I have ordered a chicken cheesy fritters and there was a bad smell of cheese in it, seems like the cheese was rotten. They have changed the order after the complain. I had french fries with chicken topping and hot coffee, both the dish were okayish . The food is not upto the mark. I don't know about the main course items but the starters item are not good so the place may be recommendable for lunch/dinner but not for snacks.

We went there today at around 4 o clock in afternoon. From reception we were told to go to 4th floor. There's no elevator so we had to climb three plights of stairs. There was no one to ask for water even and when we went to place order , we were very politely informed that whatever we order, it would take about 1 and half hours to get to the table, because of some another prior big order, whom they were busy serving with. Thanks Calcutta bungalow for giving such nice experience , on our first visit itself that we had to leave without having our lunch. Would suggest , that if you want to click some pics or make reels and have ample time to spend then go otherwise please avoid this place for eating.. My most disappointing experience ever in any north calcutta cafe !!!!!!!

Idk who needs to hear this but please don't visit there for the sake of old calcutta vibes. We visited today, i.e. astami after waiting for 1 hour. After entering we found out that there was only one menu card placed with minimal to no food varieties. And their food is so terrible, I can't describe it. You can't find any sorts of thalis or anything during these puja days, Idk about other days. I am least interested to know as I am not visiting there ever in my life. It's presence just marked the charm of old calcutta vibes, if you wanna do photoshoots only then you can go, otherwise don't waste your money please 🙏. If there was any negative review in zomato, I would surely give that without any hesitation. Just wasted my precious day at this bogus cafe.

terrible experience, extremely illmannered staff, none of the items were available, only 2 thalis that too overpriced. the mocktails were disgusting, full of chilli powder that burnt our throats, service is very very slow. need more staffs to attend customers faster. we were not even allowed to wait at the reception inspite of the bad weather outside. I would not recommend anyone to ever go here. if at all, anybody chooses go to, just full ur appetite before going and just click pictures there
