Relish an array of Bihari cuisine at Champaran Ki Rasoi There is something special about food cooked or served in earthen pots. Be it Matka Kulfi, Handi Biryani or Kuldad Wali Chai, there is an old world charm, an earthly magic around them. Champaran Mutton is one such miracle in a pot. Also called Ahuna Meat or Batlohi, which means a handi in colloquial. Hunt down your favourite Ahuna at Champaran ki Rasoi at it’s new address. Where? The newest Fine diner has been set up at Sarat Banerjee Road near Deshapriya Park and it reflects the luxury and opulence amidst the antique furniture and an ethnic ambience. What’s special about it? Like any other meat preparation in Bihar is spicy, but slow cooked - and is done on charcoal or wood fire in an earthen pot, using whole spices, freshly ground spices, whole garlic bulbs and is not stirred with the ladle. The whole pot is shaken once or twice during the cooking span of 1 and half hours nearly. The mouth of the pot is sealed with dough like it’s done in ‘dum’ dishes. What comes out is a miracle called Champaran Mutton. Team it up with Slices of thick parathas and take a mouthful of bite along with the delicious gravy and soft mutton chunks. If you want the Ghee version , they have the opulence of Mutton Atthey. If you still believe you are yet to try - try the Mutton and Chicken Tash. Mutton Tash is made on a big griddle, where the mutton marinated in ginger, garlic, spices, oil, Sichuan black pepper and yoghurt is fried in mustard oil and is garnished with chopped coriander leaves and served hot with toasted bhuja (fried beaten rice) or Chiwda(flat rice). Mutton Tash is an amazing dish and I’m surprised most of us are unaware , but I am sure you would fall in love. #champarankirasoi #ahuna #champaran #mutton #champaranmutton #bihari #biharfood #ahunamutton #konizfoodwheels

champaran_ki_rasoi is serving the authentic Ahuna Mutton in the authentic preparation Ahuna mutton is also called champaran mutton aa we get the dish from champaran district if Bihar This place is holding the same authenticity for the processing which is done upon low coal flame in an earthen pot to get the actual flavour As i get to know from the place, this preparation is done under slow cooking process with oil onion garlic and spices mixed together, put in the pot and sealed with kneaded flour I tried the ghee roat variation of Ahuna with paratha. This preparation is the same but instead of oil ghee is used with that topped with Cashew nuts Mutton was soft with completely authentic flavors, that earthy smell and with the oaratha it was heavenly We even tried Mutton tash which was a complete surprise for my taste buds Address - 38A, Dr.Sarat Banerjee Rd, lake Terrace, Ballygunge, Kolkata, West Bengal 700029 Their menu is completely curated with Bihari cuisines and the chef prepares it so well that it must be your next go to place

I was surprised to see how affordable each and every dish was at this fine dining . Located near lake rd this is just a perfect place for both family get togethers. The concept of Ahuna Mutton is very new to Kolkata and these people are just nailing it. I have tried chicken taas and its just for 100/- its extremely affordable and tasty delicious. The Ahuna Mutton was so tender and juicy its a must try whenever you are visiting them .

Recently visited this place with friends. We ordered Champaran Ahuna mutton, chicken taas and litti chokha, ghee paratha and steamed rice. The mutton was very tasty. The mutton pieces were very soft and tender. Chicken taas and litti chokha also tasted good and are must try! quantity of food is adequate. There is parking space in front of the restaurant so parking is not an issue.

Taste the authentic Champaran flavours at the newly opened of Champaran ki Rasoi at Sarat Banerjee Road. Royal ambiance and classy interiors, gorge on true and authentic flavours, with the spices and method of preparation same as what you would find in Champaran, Bihar. Order from their varied range of options and pair with Litti or Paratha for a lavish meal.

My experience here was beyond my expectations.. the ahuna mutton was rich and delicious.. the flavours had even penetrated the whole garlic and we relished every part of it.. we had it this time with Paratha but next time I'll opt for the plain rice.. food is served in huge and heavy thalis.. What an amazing experience of trying out something different

The waiters have a bad attitude here. It's as if they are doing us a favour by serving food that we are paying for. They smirked when I spoke in Bengali and refused to speak in any other language apart from Hindi. Such types of anti-Bengali restaurants need to be boycotted.
