|| ahuna handi chicken || . . So while exploring food came across this restaurant almost new In town champaran meat is a delicacy of Bihar village where chicken or mutton is slow cooked in handi or clay pots over certain amt of time with lots of ghee whole spices big chunks of ginger garlic the best part is they keep shaking the clay pots so that the spices get mixed equally Now on food The chicken chunks were so soft n tender it was easily broken with 1 hand there gravy is not spicy at all but a flavorful of hand spice so u will enjoy each bite of ur food overpowing ur taste buds even the Roti served to us were full of ghee Rating 4.5 /5 Price they do serve in kg and grams and it's very reasonable compare to the price and quantity they serve If u r a chicken or mutton lover it's a must must try dish Location 2 to 3 min walk From Gauri bhari walk towards shyambazar it will b on ur left side corner . . #Foodie.From.kolkata

For the first time tried this famous authentic Champaran meat which is a famous meat corner of Bihar and there speciality is Ahuna Mutton and Chicken handi....so they brought this bihar style meat preparation in Kolkata now....and seriously I loved both the ahuna chicken and mutton handis which had great flavours and textures ..we had this with litti and ghee roti...so that added more taste to this dishes....will visit again for sure

The most deeeeeeliiiiiiiiiicccccccciousssssssssss desi mutton you can ever have.. the mutton is juicy and yummy and cooked with full Desi masalas and love... Packed in an earthen pot and stays warm even after a couple of hours after you get it. Must eat for everyone.

Tried their ahuna chicken and Ahuja mutton along with roti and Paratha. The taste of both the dishes was pretty good. only their appetizers were not available.

Good thing about Champaran Meat Corner is it's Mutton Preparation , quite different than the various Mutton dishes we come across in different restaurant in Kolkata , be it " Bengali Styled Mutton Kosha" , or " Dhaba style Tawa Mutton" etc etc. The Ahuna Mutton as it is fondly called is also light, the load of masalas doesn't weigh in on you. You will have a sort of "feel good" feeling devoid of those excessive burping after a typical heavy meal. They also have a " Ahuna Chicken", which is avoidable. The restaurant in Hatibagan is not spacious , better to carry the " Mutton Handi" home & relish it with Jeera Rice.

Very much overhyped.... According to the price... Food is not upto the mark .... The mutton was very stiff and the gravy was very normal.. not so special. One time visit is ok ..

Behaviour of the staff or may be he was an owner is extremely rude. I hail from Bihar and wanted to try this restaurant. First I called him and asked for home delivery, he denied saying that we need to raise our order quantity to avail home delivery. Then he said take away is possible. I went there with my wife, he simply denied the service rudely saying “ call karke pehle order confirm karna chahiye tha tab hi milega, hamare Yaha item jyada der tak nahi rukta, sab bik jata hai”. I was like “uncle! Aaram se bol do ki nahi hai, insult kyu kar rahe ho” then we left red faced 😁.

In reality this is the worst mutton I ever tasted . Mutton was with skin, no taste of mutton in gravy , hardly found meat in pieces all but cartilage, pieces was noy tender enough . Cheating by the quality of meat and pieces. All hype no quality. U can find far far better mutton anywhere in kolkata keep aside decres lane. The only prevalent taste was black pepper which suppressed everything. Not recommended . This is biggest scam in kolkata gastronomy .
